This is a remote opportunity, and the incoming candidate may work from home but will travel extensively (70% or more) within the assigned territory. The territory supported by this role will focus on the Northeast territory (New England states such as NY, MA, CT, NH, VT, and RI). The territory will include New York City and Long Island. What You'll Do:
The Regional Sales Manager (RSM) is responsible for driving sales of Cox Automotive Dealer Management System (DMS) solutions to franchise automotive dealerships. This role focuses on generating new revenue, expanding existing customer relationships, and serving as a trusted advisor to dealership leadership by aligning DMS solutions with operational and financial goals. The position is remote with extensive travel (70%+) within the assigned territory and requires strong consultative selling, relationship management, and automotive retail expertise.

• Drive sales of Dealer Management System (DMS) solutions to franchise automotive dealerships.
• Generate new revenue, expand existing accounts, and grow market share within the territory.
• Serve as a trusted advisor to dealer leadership by aligning DMS solutions to operational and financial goals.
• Manage and close complex sales opportunities using Cox Automotive's consultative sales approach.
• Present and demonstrate DMS solutions, clearly articulating business value and ROI.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with Dealer Principals, General Managers, and Controllers.
• Meet or exceed monthly, quarterly, and annual sales targets.
• Collaborate with internal teams and support territory backfill as needed.
• Travel frequently within the territory (70% or more).

Who you are:
Minimum Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in a related discipline and 6 years of experience in a related field. The right candidate could also have a different combination, such as a master's degree and 4 years of experience; a Ph.D. and 1 year of experience; or 10 years of experience in a related field.
  • Safe drivers needed; valid driver's license required.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Degree in business, finance, or related field.
  • 5+ years of automotive software sales experience, including DMS platforms (e.g., CDK, Reynolds & Reynolds, DealerSocket).
  • Strong knowledge of dealership operations and the automotive retail environment.
  • Proven consultative selling, presentation, and territory management skills.
  • Data-driven mindset with strong organizational and CRM skills.
  • Highly self-motivated with an engaging, professional presence.
  • Ability to travel 60-75% within the assigned territory.

USD 78,500.00 - 117,700.00 per year
Compensation:
Compensation includes a base salary in the range of $78,500.00 - $117,700.00. The salary rate may vary within the anticipated range based on factors such as the ultimate location of the position and the selected candidate's experience. In addition to the salary range identified herein, this role is also eligible for an annual incentive/commission target of $85,000.00.
Benefits:
The Company offers eligible employees the flexibility to take as much vacation with pay as they deem consistent with their duties, the company's needs, and its obligations; seven paid holidays throughout the calendar year; and up to 160 hours of paid wellness annually for their own wellness or that of family members. Employees are also eligible for additional paid time off in the form of bereavement leave, time off to vote, jury duty leave, volunteer time off, military leave, and parental leave.
