    POSITION

    LOCATION: San Francisco, CA

    Conventus is seeking an experienced Analyst, DSCR Appraisal Reviewer to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will evaluate DSCR mortgage loans for residential investment properties nationwide, focusing on single-family rentals (SFR 1-4), condos, and townhomes. Your role will focus on collateral valuation, rent analysis, cost verification, and market condition assessments to ensure sound underwriting decisions and risk mitigation.


    This position plays a critical role in the DSCR loan origination process, requiring collaboration across multiple departments, including Sales, Operations, and Capital Markets.


    RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Conduct internal valuation analysis for SFR 1-4, condos, and townhomes, using sales comparison approach.
    • Manage a pipeline of +25 loans, ensuring timely credit reviews and consistent communication with all stakeholders.
    • Validate appraisal-stated market rents by researching comparable rental listings and submarket market data.
    • Review appraisals for data accuracy and quality of sales/rental comparables.
    • Analyze borrower cost breakdowns to verify completed capital improvements.
    • Recommend appraisal disputes when market data supports a higher value or rent assessment.
    • Complete DSCR checklists to support and document underwriting decisions.
    • Prepare and submit internal credit memos for transaction approval
    • Collaborate with Sales and Operations teams to determine optimal loan structures.
    • Identify and recommend process improvements to enhance efficiency.


    QUALIFICATIONS

    Required

    • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Real Estate, Construction Management, or a related field (preferred).
    • 1-3 years of experience in a real estate-related field.
    • 1-3 years of lending experience (DSCR loan underwriting, real estate lending, or commercial banking experience a plus).
    • Prior real estate valuation experience is a plus.
    • Strong Excel proficiency.
    • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
    • Ability to manage multiple deals in a fast-paced lending environment.
    • Highly organized and detail-oriented.
    • Comfortable with on-the-job training and adapting to a fast-paced team environment.
