Compensation: $50 - $60 per hour, depending on qualifications
Overview: 
We are seeking a Project Engineer to manage construction contracts from planning through completion, ensuring compliance with plans, specifications, quality, safety, schedule, and contractual requirements. Responsibilities include coordinating with contractors and stakeholders, reviewing technical submittals, supporting QA activities, managing contract modifications and RFIs, monitoring progress, and assisting with payment estimates, disputes, and claims.
Responsibilities:
  • Serve as Project Engineer for assigned construction contracts, independently managing routine project activities and escalating complex issues as needed.
  • Coordinate with customers, project managers, contractors, and other stakeholders regarding project progress, issues, and potential delays.
  • Lead and participate in pre-work, coordination, preparatory phase, and safety meetings.
  • Review plans, specifications, and site conditions to ensure compliance with design and construction requirements.
  • Recommend changes to plans and specifications based on deficiencies, differing site conditions, or customer requirements.
  • Support contract modifications by developing scopes of work, assisting with government estimates, and reviewing contractor proposals.
  • Develop and implement project Quality Assurance Plans and support onsite Quality Assurance Representatives (QARs).
  • Perform periodic field inspections to verify contractor compliance with quality, safety, plans, specifications, and contract requirements.
  • Review contractor schedules, technical submittals, shop drawings, safety plans, environmental plans, quality control programs, and certifications.
  • Monitor construction progress, identify potential schedule delays, and maintain project status and milestone information in RMS.
  • Review and respond to RFIs and other technical issues and prepare correspondence regarding contractor performance.
  • Assist with contractor disputes, claims, and recommendations for resolution.
  • Prepare partial and final payment estimates, including quantity verification, materials on hand, and percent-complete calculations.

Required Qualifications:
  • B.S. Degree in Engineering (any discipline)
  • 5+ years of construction engineering
