Job description
Continental Resources' Summer Internship Program provides:
- Meaningful, career-specific experiences
- Hands-on insight into the oil and gas industry

- Networking with fellow Continental interns, as well as interns from other companies and experienced professionals
- Exposure to various departments within Continental
- Opportunity to present their summer projects to experienced professionals and members of management
Job Summary
The Accounting/Finance Intern will provide support to one of the following departments within Continental's Accounting/Finance areas: Treasury/Planning; Property Accounting; Joint Interest; Audit; Revenue and Material Control.
Duties and Responsibilities
In addition to working on a summer project, the intern will apply basic financial concepts and accounting principles to include but not limited to:
- Process monthly data including inputting, coding, scanning, copying and distributing of reports & information.
- Preparation of journal entries with all applicable backup documentation and proposed accounts & cost centers.
- Compile and analyze financial information to prepare entries to general ledger accounts.
- Analyze and account for all payments for oil and gas sales from operated and non-operated properties;
- Analyze Joint Interest billings for compliance with Joint Operating Agreements and industry guidelines.
- Analyze and account for purchases of services, equipment, and materials used in drilling, completing and producing oil wells.
- Research, analyze and resolve disputes with third party working interest owners, operators and vendors.
- Other duties as assigned.
Skills and Competencies
- Strong communication skills, both written and oral.
- Proficient computer skills.
- Proven team player.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office.
- Strong customer focus and a team player.
- Effective time management.
Required Qualifications
- Current enrollment in 4 year college or university;
- Working towards a Bachelor's or Master's degree in accounting or finance;
- Eligible to work permanently in the United States upon graduation.
- An acceptable pre-employment background and drug test.
Preferred Qualifications
- Minimum 3.0 GPA
Physical Requirementsand Working Conditions
- Requires prolonged sitting, some bending and stooping.
- Occasional lifting up to 25 pounds.
- Manual dexterity sufficient to operate a computer keyboard and calculator.
