POSITION SUMMARY
The Line Operator Associate is responsible for operating and monitoring packaging line equipment to ensure products are filled, sealed, labeled, and packaged according to company specifications, safety guidelines, and cGMP standards. This role supports efficient production flow by maintaining accuracy, cleanliness, and compliance during all packaging operations. The Line Operator Associate works under supervision to achieve production goals while ensuring product quality and operational safety.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS & DUTIES
INCLUDE BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:
• Operate, monitor, and adjust packaging line equipment including fillers, cappers, labelers, and sealers.
• Assist in setup and changeovers for different product runs following approved procedures.
• Inspect packaging components and finished products for accuracy, appearance, and quality.
• Record production data, lot numbers, and equipment settings accurately in batch documentation.
• Ensure product packaging complies with master manufacturing records (MMRs) and labeling specifications.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the packaging area and equipment throughout the shift.
• Support line clearance, sanitation, and verification processes before and after production runs.
• Communicate any deviations, equipment malfunctions, or material shortages to the Lead or Supervisor promptly.
• Follow all cGMP, FDA 21 CFR Part 111, and safety standards.
• Assist other team members during product runs to ensure continuous line operation and minimize downtime.
• Participate in ongoing training and process improvement initiatives.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS, EDUCATION, AND EXPERIENCE
• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• 1-2 years of experience in packaging, manufacturing, or related production environment preferred.
• Knowledge of cGMP, food safety, or pharmaceutical manufacturing practices preferred.
• Mechanical aptitude and basic troubleshooting skills for line equipment.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
• Ability to read and follow MMRs, SOPs, and written work instructions.
• Effective communication and teamwork skills.
• Willingness to work in a fast-paced, regulated production environment.
EMPLOYEE AND MANAGER cGMP RESPONSIBILITIES
Employee Responsibilities
• Adhere to cGMPs and SOPs.
• Report any situations that might harm food safety or quality immediately to the supervisor or QA Department.
• Ensure food safety and quality are maintained according to company standards.
• Comply with policies and procedures to prepare and pack products under sanitary conditions that do not expose it to the risk of contamination.
• Operate and maintain a clean and hygienic standard of operation. Always Follow Company CGMPS (Current Good Manufacturing Practices and Food Safety Policies).
Supervisor Responsibilities
• Maintain a Food Safety Culture by regularly assessing the team's performance and understanding of food safety practices.
• Initiate decisions on corrective action that support resolution and improved policies and procedures.
• Communicate to employees any opportunity to improve team performance to achieve greater levels of product safety and quality.
• Comply with policies and procedures to prepare and pack the product under sanitary conditions that do not expose it to the risk of contamination.
• Encourage and maintain a strong food safety culture by ensuring employees are knowledgeable of food safety policies and procedures, as well as empowered to report events that could impact the food safety of the product
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
• Frequent standing and walking throughout the production shift.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds occasionally.
• Repetitive motions including bending, reaching, and handling materials.
• Manual dexterity to operate equipment and handle components.
• Must be able to wear PPE, including gloves, safety glasses, hairnets, masks, and ear protection.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
• Production and packaging floor setting with moderate noise, powders, and temperature variations.
• Must adhere to GMP, hygiene, and safety standards at all times.
• Fast-paced environment requiring attention to detail and operational awareness.
• Frequent collaboration with Quality, Maintenance, and Production staff.
• Occasional extended hours or weekend shifts during high production demand.

Requirements

• Ability to follow directions and work well in a team.

• Thorough understanding of or the ability to quickly learn production equipment.

• Able to lift up to 30 lbs.

• Adhere to cGMP/SOP's guidelines.

• Reliable transportation.

Physical Requirements:

• Must be able to lift up to 30 pounds regularly.

• Must be able to load and unload packages with and without dollies in various types of weather.

• Must be able to use a dolly and strap materials down.

WORK ENVIRONMENT: While performing the primary duties of the job, the employee is regularly exposed to various outdoor and indoor environments (i.e. general office, industrial complexes, food processing plants, semiconductor labs, clean rooms, etc., some of which can be hazardous). Temperature variances, high noise levels, and dusty environments may be encountered.
