    Job description

    Community Options, Inc. is a national non-profit agency providing services to individuals with disabilities in 12 states. 

    We are seeking a  Delivery Driver in Hillsborough, NJ. The Delivery Driver loads and transports arrangements to customer’s homes, business, municipal buildings, hospitals and any location required by the business, using a company vehicle. The Delivery Driver also transports consumers to and from program and acts as a stand in for program transportation as needed.

    Responsibilities

    • Load and transport flowers arrangements to delivery sites, as indicated by business needs
    • Transport Individuals with Intellectual Disabilities to and from day program
    • Assist individuals with getting on and off vans or vehicles  
    • Ensure the safety of Individuals and maintain a safe environment
    • Perform any tasks needed by shop involving driving, including but not limited to bank visits, supply pick up or delivery and transportation of consumers to and from homes
    • Attend staff meetings as determined by supervisor
    • Attend any necessary trainings
    • Employees must cooperate with the licensee and department staff in any inspection, inquiry or investigation
    • Additional tasks and responsibilities may be assigned

    Minimum Requirements

    • High School diploma or equivalent
    • Valid driver's license with satisfactory driving record
    • The ability to exercise good judgment and remain calm in a crisis situation
    • The ability to interact with a wide range of people
    • Ability to establish a comfortable and supportive relationship with consumers
    • Ability to read and write English
    • Ability to lift 50 pounds

    Working Conditions

    • Employee travels utilizing your own vehicle or company provided vehicles
    • Frequent lifting, stretching, and other physical exertion
    • May occasionally assist with wheelchair transfer of non-ambulatory consumers
    • May be exposed to various medical conditions and communicable diseases
    • May be exposed to various plants and pollens
    • Flexible schedule as determined by supervisor
