    Job description

    Under the direction of the Licensed Pharmacist, the Pharmacy Technician will assist in the practice of pharmacy. The Pharmacy Technician will support the Pharmacist in preparing and dispensing medication as well as providing excellent customer service to internal and external patients in a clinic's retail pharmacy location.
    Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
    • Dispensing support packaging medications, accurately count, measure package and label medication.
    • Familiar with State, Federal and regulation and local laws related to dispensing medication.
    • Entering patient personal data and insurance information.
    • Communicate with IPA regarding prescription claim or prior authorization status.
    • Inventory management including placing orders, maintaining sufficient supply,
    • receiving, storing, and disposition.
    • Addresses discrepancies in collaboration with Pharmacists.
    • Performs nonclinical outreaches to patients and facilitates appropriate documentation if needed.
    • Develops and maintains good relationships with internal and external customers.
    • Assist Pharmacists in the coordination of clinical services, including but not limited to vaccinations, screening questionnaires, medical device set-up.
    • Other duties as assigned

    • High School Diploma or GED Equivalent.
    • Bilingual in Spanish required.
    • 1 year experience working as a Pharmacy Technician.
    • Required to be License as a Pharmacy Technician by CA State Board of Pharmacy.
    • Basic pharmaceutical calculations such as sufficient quantity and days' supply.
    • Insurance plans and claims resolution skills.
    • Experience with initiating claims & prior authorization to insurance.
