Journeyman Electrician – Night Shift

Schedule
- Four 10-hour shifts per week, typically 9:00 p.m.–7:00 a.m.
- Night assignments may continue for several months.
- Workdays may vary based on project needs, with occasional overtime or weekend work.
Position Summary
Clark Electric is seeking an experienced Journeyman Electrician to perform commercial, industrial, and facility electrical work during overnight hours. This position requires someone who can work independently, troubleshoot systems, lead Helpers or apprentices, and communicate effectively with customers and project teams.
Responsibilities
- Install, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair commercial and industrial electrical systems.
- Work in occupied facilities during shutdowns or outside normal business hours.
- Install conduit, wiring, panels, lighting, controls, transformers, disconnects, and related equipment.
- Read electrical drawings, specifications, one-line diagrams, and panel schedules.
- Perform circuit tracing, voltage checks, testing, and system diagnostics.
- Coordinate shutdowns and system energization with customers and management.
- Direct apprentices or Helpers when assigned.
- Document completed work, labor, materials, site conditions, and shift updates.
- Follow NEC, OSHA, NFPA 70E, customer, and Clark Electric safety requirements.
- Maintain a clean work area and properly care for company tools, vehicles, and equipment.
Qualifications
- At least five years of commercial or industrial electrical experience.
- Journeyman certification or license where required.
- Strong knowledge of the NEC and 120/208V and 277/480V systems.
- Ability to troubleshoot electrical systems independently.
- Experience bending and installing EMT and rigid conduit.
- Ability to terminate panels, transformers, disconnects, motors, lighting controls, and related equipment.
- Ability to read electrical plans and safely use meters, power tools, ladders, and lifts.
- Valid driver’s license, acceptable driving record, and reliable transportation.
- Consistent availability for overnight work.
- Ability to pass required background checks, drug screenings, and customer site-access requirements.
Preferred Experience
- Commercial service, troubleshooting, or occupied-facility work.
- Industrial, manufacturing, healthcare, retail, education, or property-management projects.
- Electrical shutdowns, overnight renovations, lighting controls, and motor troubleshooting.
- Experience leading apprentices or small crews.
- OSHA, NFPA 70E, aerial-lift, or related safety certifications.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to climb ladders, work from aerial lifts, and perform work above ceilings.
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, crouch, and work overhead for extended periods.
- Ability to work safely overnight and wear required PPE.
