    City BBQ started in Columbus, OH in 1999 and we have now grown to 78 locations in 12 states. We are ready to bring an enthusiastic Shift Manager onto our team in Huntsville, AL.     Job Summary and Mission:
    Shift Managers are responsible for shift supervision of joint teammates in successful day-to-day shift operations, ensuring great service and product quality thru leading by example and by being a role model of the standards and behaviors consistent with our values and culture. 
     
    Summary of Key Responsibilities:
    • Acts with integrity, honesty, and knowledge that promote the culture, values, and mission of City Barbeque. 
    • Deploys teammates and delegates tasks so that teammates can create and maintain the City Barbeque experience for our guests. 
    • He/she will ensure that safety and security standards are emphasized and adhered to and that teammates are trained inappropriate responses to unsafe situations
    • Maintains a calm demeanor during periods of high volume or unusual events to keep the store operating to standard and to set a positive example for the shift team. 
    • Executes joint operations during scheduled shifts, organizing opening and closing duties as assigned, ensuring food safety systems are executed, and keeping up a clean/safe environment.
    • Delivers backyard hospitality service to all guests by anticipating guest and joint needs by constantly evaluating the environment and guests for cues. 
    • Assists with new teammate training by positively reinforcing successful performance and giving respectful and encouraging coaching as needed. Provides feedback to joint General Manager on teammate performance during shift. 
    • Creates a positive learning environment by providing clear, specific, timely, and respectful coaching and feedback to teammates on shift to ensure operational excellence and to improve teammate performance. 
    • Follows City Barbeque's operational policies and procedures, including those for cash handling and safety and security, to ensure the safety of all teammates during each shift. · Follows all cash management and cash register policies and ensures proper cash management practices are followed by the shift team. 
    • Maintains regular and consistent attendance and punctuality. 
    • Follows health, safety, and sanitation guidelines for all products. 
     
    Experience & Requirements:
    • Customer service experience in a retail or restaurant environment 1 year (Required).
    • Ability to direct the work of others.
    • Ability to learn quickly. 
    • Effective oral communication skills. 
    • Knowledge of the retail environment. 
    • Strong interpersonal skills. 
    • Ability to work as part of a team. 
    • Ability to build relationships.
