    CIBC's Loan Syndications Group ("LSG") is responsible for originating, structuring, executing, and distributing loan products for the bank's corporate, project finance, and financial sponsor clients across industry sectors. LSG provides integrated and complex debt solutions to a broad range of clientswith transactions include regular-way corporate financings, acquisition and other event-driven structures, and project/infrastructure finance. The role collaborates with all parts of the bank, including sector coverage, M&A, DCM, Leveraged Finance, Rates, and Credit teams.

    What You'll Be Doing:

    We are seeking highly motivated, detail-oriented Analysts and Associates to join LSG at CIBC. This role offers a dynamic opportunity to contribute to the origination, structuring, and syndication of loan transactions. The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical and technical skills, formal credit training, foundational knowledge of loan documentation, and experience in structured, sponsor and / or corporate finance.

    How You'll Succeed:

    Origination and Marketing Support

    • Develop and refine marketing materials tailored to sector-specific coverage areas
    • Assist senior LSG professionals in pitch preparation, RFP responses, and client engagement strategies
    • Monitor market trends, lender appetite, and pricing dynamics to support client advisory and transaction structuring

    Structuring & Analysis

    • Analyze credit profiles, capital structures, and market conditions to develop optimal financing solutions
    • Model different financing scenarios, covenant packages, and pricing frameworks
    • Provide insights to support structuring decisions and transaction terms

    Syndication & Execution

    • Support the full lifecycle of loan syndication process
    • Coordinate with internal stakeholders (Coverage, Legal, Credit, Middle Office), clients, and external banking partners (arrangers, participants, agents)
    • Track lender feedback, manage Q&A processes, and maintain data rooms throughout execution
    • Prepare marketing materials including teasers, information memoranda, and lender presentations

    Who You Are:

    • Minimum of 2-years for associates (1-year for analysts) of experience in a leading financial institution, preferably in project or infrastructure finance or infrastructure loan syndications.
    • Completion of formal credit training, with emphasis on banking products, credit analysis, and loan documentation
    • Solid understanding of structured financed (project finance, infrastructure finance, back-leverage ) syndicated loan origination and execution processes
    • Strong communication skills (both written and verbal) with the ability to convey complex financial concepts clearly
    • Proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint, and Word; familiarity with financial platforms such as Dealogic, Bloomberg, LoanConnector, and data room management tools (DebtDomain, Syndtrak, IntraLinks)
    • Demonstrated ability to multi-task, work independently, and collaborate effectively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment. Ability to deal professionally with complexity under tight deadlines
    • Knowledge of certain foreign languages is a big plus to cover international institutions active in the US market

    At CIBC, we offer a competitive total rewards package. This role has an expected base salary range of $115,000-$185,000 for the New York, NY market based on experience, qualifications, and location of the position. The successful candidate may be eligible to participate in the relevant business unit's incentive compensation plan, which also may include a discretionary bonus component.
