Job description

The Opportunity

The Yard Person maintains the organization, cleanliness, and safety of the equipment yard. This role involves organizing machinery, assisting with loading, unloading, inspecting, and executing general property upkeep to support branch operations. 

The Role

  • Yard Organization: Arrange heavy machinery, attachments, and industrial products logically.
  • Shipping & Receiving: Safely load, unload, and secure equipment on delivery trucks.
  • Site Upkeep: Sweep driveways, pick up debris, and maintain clear access routes.
  • Equipment Care: Pressure wash incoming and outgoing machinery and check fluid levels.
  • Safety & Compliance: Monitor the yard for hazards and follow all corporate safety protocols.
  • Inventory Support: Assist the parts and sales teams with verifying equipment serial numbers.
  • Continuous Improvement :Support Lean/5S projects which may include sweeping floors, emptying trash, and cleaning vehicles, maintaining organization of new products in the yard and implementing changes to improve the Branch

The Candidate

  • Education: High School; Forklift Certification an asset, ability to safely operate forklifts or small moving equipment is preferred.
  • Work Experience: 14 - 28 months , previous experience in an industrial yard or warehouse environment
  • Physical Fitness: Able to lift up to 50 lbs and work outdoors in all weather conditions.
  • Communication: Strong teamwork skills to coordinate with drivers, technicians, and sales staff.
  • Knowledge: Experience in Technical/Safety/Logistics/Warehousing, MS OFFICE
  • Rental/Whole goods receiving, as well as experience in fast paced environments leading with Safety/5S advantageous

Compensation:

Hourly pay range at 18-22/hr, with higher levels receiving increased compensation with Annual Incentive Bonus. Pay may vary based on skills, expertise, and performance, and is a component of the total rewards package.
