Position Overview

We invite you to become an integral part of our dedicated team as a Full-Time Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) at Carter Family and Mental Health Support Services. Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct comprehensive assessments and screenings to identify clients' mental health issues, along with their needs and goals for therapy.
  • Design and implement customized therapy plans that are tailored to address each client’s unique circumstances.
  • Facilitate evidence-based individual and group therapy sessions, employing proven methods to promote healing and recovery.
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams, including psychiatrists, psychologists, and case managers, to ensure holistic care for all patients.
  • Provide support and education to clients’ family members, helping them understand the therapeutic process and how they can contribute to their loved one's recovery.
  • Maintain accurate and confidential documentation in compliance with regulatory and ethical standards, ensuring that all client information is securely handled.
Patient Population / Client Focus

You will engage with individuals experiencing anxiety, depression, relationship issues, and family dynamics that require nuanced intervention. Qualifications
  • A valid and current state license as a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) is required.
  • A Master’s degree in Marriage and Family Therapy or a related field.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills are essential for building and nurturing a trusting therapeutic alliance with clients.
  • A nonjudgmental attitude, empathy, and compassion towards clients’ struggles and experiences.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills to handle multi-faceted workloads and administrative tasks effectively.
Preferred Experience
  • Previous clinical experience in outpatient settings is highly valued.
  • Proficiency in evidence-based therapeutic practices such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) will enhance treatment outcomes.
  • Experience working with families and couples, providing therapy that addresses relational and communication issues.
Compensation and Benefits
