Responsibilities:
What You Will Do
In all of your duties, you will have a relentless, obsessive, yet disciplined approach to manage all details to perfection and deliver desired results.
• Participate in activities that allow you to explore various career fields and gain real-world insights from industry leaders
• Shadow and observe professionals in different career roles, helping you better understand specific industries and career paths
• Build valuable connections by networking with professionals, peers, and industry leaders that will help you in future career pursuits
• Gain relevant, hands-on experience that can enhance your profile for future college applications or employment opportunities
• Active participation throughout the duration of the program, ensures you gain as much exposure and learning as possible
This position is an exceptional introduction to early career exposure and personal development, as there is plenty of room to grow and learn from outstanding individuals in the field. From Liftoff Extern you will have a perfect springboard into all areas of C Spire and develop robust career skills.

As a C Spire team member you will bring a relentless obsession to be the best in our industry and a winning mentality, determined to outsmart and outdo competitors. You will have a single-minded commitment to unbeatable internal customer and external candidate experience. To support our early talent programs team you will have an unapologetic passion for innovation and technology and an uncompromising drive toward continuous improvement.
In addition to that, we require:
• Applicants must be high school juniors or seniors (11th or 12th grade)
• A minimum GPA requirement of 3.5 or higher to ensure that the students are maintaining a good academic standing
• Currently enrolled in a public or private high school within Greater Jackson Area
• A 500-750-word essay answering a prompt about career goals, the expected impact of the externship, and what the applicant hopes to contribute to the program. Essay prompt and submission details will be provided from the C Spire Recruiting team after applications have been reviewed
• A letter of recommendation from a teacher, school counselor, or administrator who can speak to the student's character, work ethic, and potential for success in a professional environment
Physical Requirements and Working Conditions
Must be able to sit for long periods of time and use computer keyboard and/or mouse, while viewing computer screen. Must be able to lift 15lbs, have finger/wrist/arm mobility, and finger dexterity.
