Job description

Job Type
Full-time
Description
Engineering excellence, built on people-first values.
At LUZCO, we're more than an engineering firm - we're a familia. We pair technical excellence with a culture rooted in respect, flexibility, and genuine care for one another. Here, you're known by name, supported as a whole person, and encouraged to bring your authentic self to work with competitive benefits, and the flexibility to support life both inside and outside of work.
We're proud to be a 2025 and 2026 Best Place to Work in St. Louis and a woman-owned, minority-owned boutique firm, delivering impactful engineering solutions in a workplace where people feel valued and empowered to grow.
Why You'll Love LUZCO
  • Benefits that take care of you: Top-notch medical, dental, and vision insurance; a competitive 401k match; generous PTO; student loan repayment assistance; and an employee recognition platform that celebrates your wins big and small.
  • Flexibility that fits your life: We get that life doesn't always stick to a schedule. You'll work with your supervisor to create a schedule that's flexible and works for both you and the team.
  • Diversity that fuels innovation: Our team brings together a wide range of backgrounds, perspectives, and experiences. That diversity isn't just something we talk about; it's what drives our creativity and helps us find better ways to solve problems.
  • Growth that feels personal: Whether you're continuing your education, earning new certifications, or stepping into new challenges, we're here to help you grow in the direction that's right for you. You'll collaborate with experienced mentors and leaders who want to see you succeed.
  • A culture that gives back: We're passionate about our communities. Every year, we dedicate paid time off for volunteering and encourage our team to use their talents to make a difference whether that's mentoring students, serving local nonprofits, or getting hands-on in community projects.
  • A workplace that feels like you: We keep things relaxed and welcoming. Expect weekly happy hours, team lunches, a stocked kitchen, dogs in the office, and a casual dress code. It's a space where you can be yourself and do your best work.

The Role
LUZCO is looking for a detail-oriented, collaborative Project Controls Scheduler to help keep a portfolio of electric utility distribution projects on track, from design through construction. You'll partner directly with project managers to build, maintain, and analyze the schedules that stakeholders rely on to make decisions. It's a role for someone who enjoys turning moving parts into a clear plan and seeing their work shape whether a project lands on time.
What Your Day Will Look Like
  • Own and maintain project schedules in Oracle Primavera P6, keeping data clean and decision-ready
  • Partner across several project teams at once, gaining exposure to how utility distribution projects come together
  • Resource-load schedules and run the quality checks that keep project controls deliverables reliable
  • Reconcile schedule and financial data so timelines and budgets tell the same story
  • Translate technical progress on distribution line and substation work into schedule insights the team can act on
  • Integrate schedule data with other project information in Excel using formulas, pivots, and other tools

Requirements
What You'll Bring to the Familia
Essentials to Succeed:
  • 3+ years supporting project schedules in a controls, scheduling, or project-coordination role
  • Hands-on experience with Primavera P6 or a comparable CPM tool (P6 strongly preferred)
  • A bachelor's degree in engineering, construction management, business, or a related field from an accredited program
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills
  • Comfort juggling data, schedules, and shifting priorities
  • Valid driver's license and willingness to travel occasionally (<10>

What Will Make You Stand Out:
  • Experience with transmission or distribution line and substation projects
  • Intermediate-to-advanced Excel skills
  • Exposure to Power BI
  • PMP or PMI-SP certification
  • AACE PSP certification
  • Familiarity with Earned Value Management

Ready to Make an Impact? We know you might not check every single box on the job description-and that's totally fine. At LUZCO, we care about potential, collaboration, and diverse perspectives. If you're passionate about joining a supportive and innovative team, we encourage you to apply and show us what you can bring to the familia.
