Job description
Description
Blessed Trinity School in Ocala is looking for substitute teachers for the 2020-2021 school year. The substitute teacher performs the instructional and classroom management processes for teachers who are absent for a day or longer periods of time. A person in this position works on an as-needed basis. The substitute teacher agrees to abide by the educational policies and procedures of the Diocese of Orlando and the Office of Catholic Schools as well as comply with the educational policies and procedures of the local school. The substitute teacher cooperates with staff in providing an educational environment that promotes the ministry of Catholic education.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or higher
- Participate in the creation of a Christian atmosphere in school, particularly by beginning each class period with an appropriate prayer.
- Report to school by 7:30 A.M.
- Provides classroom instruction to students as outlined in lesson plans.
- Creates a classroom that is conducive to learning and appropriate to the maturity and interests of students.
- Maintains a safe and orderly environment.
- Maintains established routine of the school and classroom procedures in which assigned.
- Dress appropriately and modestly to maintain a professional image.
- Takes all necessary and reasonable precautions to protect all students.
- Takes all necessary precautions to protect and maintain equipment, materials, and facilities.
- Handles normal discipline in the classroom which involves the development and maintenance of an orderly and productive classroom environment wherein the teacher is able to instruct, and the students are able to learn to the best of their ability. Classroom rules and procedures should emphasize respect for school, the teacher, fellow students, all staff, and self.
- Communicates effectively with parents when needed.
- Meets and instructs assigned classes in the locations and times designated.
- Complete other duties as assigned.
All candidates are required to fulfill the Diocese of Orlando Safe Environment Certification process and undergo screening with the Clearinghouse Care Provider Background Screen via the following websites:
