Job description

An exciting opportunity to promote a buy-and-bill prescription product and device in the dermatology space. This role is for someone who is relatively new to pharmaceutical, medical or healthcare sales, or who has relevant sales experience and looking to build their career within the prescription drug industry.

The Territory Leader will represent Biofrontera by establishing, building, and maintaining customer relationships in the dermatology community in the defined geographical area. By doing so they will grow the usage of the promoted products and meet defined volume goals. The role will require 80+% travel within the territory on a consistent basis including several overnight visits per month.

The defined geographical area for this role is: Philadelphia, PA

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Comprehend and adhere to compliance with the laws, rules and regulations regarding the marketing of drug and medical device products; maintain ethical standards in line with company guidelines
  • Maintain existing customer relationships and identify and convert potential opportunities at physician’s offices, clinics, group practices and institutional facilities to market and sell a portfolio of products
    • Develop a detailed understanding of each customer’s practice including product placement within practice business, purchasing and inventory practices, EMR systems, billing and reimbursement processes
    • Build relationships with medical staff and perform product training, demonstrations, and installations
    • Support accounts to integrate procedures into the normal operations of the practice
  • Utilize marketing tools and data analytics to monitor and drive activity and improve pull through
  • Work cross functionally to provide excellent customer service and support
  • Implement new business plans and effective marketing strategies to position the organization competitively and to meet/exceed territory objectives
  • Complete administrative requirements of the role including required business reporting, expense management, and other required activities
  • Build professional and technical knowledge by participating in company defined training activities and self-learning
  • Contribute to regional activities and projects as required
  • Other projects or activities as assigned

Qualifications and Experience Required

  • Bachelor’s degree in life sciences, business, communications or related disciplines
  • 1-3 years of direct sales experience in a B2B environment
  • 0-2 years sales/marketing experience in the pharmaceutical, healthcare or medical device industry, and willingness to learn via our extensive training programs
  • At the time of this posting, the salary range for this position is $80,000 - $95,000 annually. Actual compensation is commensurate with job related knowledge, skills, experience, and location of the postion.
  • Must live within the specified territory
  • Demonstrated ability to learn and comprehend the science specific to the product and therapeutic indications
  • Ability to drive long distances (up to 6 hours on occasion)
  • Willingness to travel by air as needed, either within the territory or for company meetings
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to lift 20lb
  • Computer literate and ability to use mobile technology for business purposes

Preferred experience

  • Prior knowledge and usage of a CRM system
