Job description
SUMMARY: This Site Safety Coordinator will be assigned to a specific construction job site in conjunction with the Project Safety Manager and play an integral role in the safety and success of the project. The Site Safety Coordinator will be the full-time safety representative on that project site until the completion of safety requirements at which point would be assigned to a new projectÂ

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Support safety efforts on this specific project and monitor field activities to verify the work being performed is compliant with Baker Electric site-specific safety expectations.Â
- Perform daily site safety observations by being in the field observing work crews 80% to 90% of the time.Â
- Conduct the Baker Electric site specific new to site orientation.Â
- Ensure implementation of the corporate and site-specific safety plan on a specific project.Â
- Track inventory of safety related supplies, such as, PPE, Water, First-Aid Supplies and communicate needs to the Project Safety Manager Â
- Assist field supervision with equipment inspections. Â
- Make recommendations concerning the modification, improvement, or removal of any company equipment, facilities, or machinery that is hazardous to employee safety or health.Â
- Assess the safety training needs and provide or coordinate site safety training.Â
- Create and maintain an employee training matrix – includes a list of training requirements for the site, names of workers, completion dates.Â
- Assist site management with investigating all incidents.Â
- Act as a resource in conjunction with the Senior Site Manager to complete all required paperwork in regard to safety.Â
- Maintain all safety related documentation in a central location and contained in Safety Binders (safety observations, audits, permits, investigation, training, inspections, etc.)Â Â
- Coach project teams in effective hazard identification and correction of issues in accordance with site specific safety plan and the Baker Corporate Safety Process.Â
- Serve as company liaison with the GC safety team, Cal OSHA, Insurance carriers and other regulatory agencies as needed.Â
- Attend site safety related meetings and daily huddles. Â
- Verify initial confined space readings at the time the samples are taken.Â
- Assure proper procedures are followed for initial confined space entry daily. Serve as the entry supervisor.Â
- Required to work overtime and off shifts as requested by the Manager due to project timelines and needsÂ

EXPERIENCE, EDUCATION:
- 5+ years of safety experience is requiredÂ
- Confined space experience is requiredÂ
- OSHA knowledge Â
- Ability to effectively communicate and interact with the customer / General Contractor Â
- Ability to travel and stay overnight at a remote construction job site location Â
