The International & Out-of-State Employee Accounting Compliance Manager is the engine that keeps the UA System running smoothly. In this high-impact role, you become the organization's trusted expert on employment compliance, multi-jurisdiction payroll, and global mobility regulations - ensuring every employee, no matter where they work, is supported by accurate processes, airtight compliance, and forward-thinking strategy.
You lead the charge in navigating evolving tax laws, paid leave mandates, international employment rules, and remote-work requirements. Your work shapes the policies, controls, and risk-mitigation strategies that protect the organization across states and countries. With deep expertise and sharp analytical insight, you partner with HR, Legal, Payroll, Finance, and external advisors to build seamless, compliant systems that scale with organizational growth.
From overseeing payroll tax accuracy to driving policy development, coordinating cross-functional compliance efforts, and supervising a team dedicated to remote-work and global-employment support, you're at the center of the organization's most complex and strategic workforce decisions. Your dashboards, audits, and trend analyses guide leadership, reduce risk, and keep the organization ahead of regulatory change.

Minimum Qualifications:
Master's degree in related field and five years relevant experience, or an equivalent combination of training and experience.
Related Fields: Accounting, Finance, Taxation, Business Administration, or similar.
Relevant Experience: Payroll tax, accounting compliance, employment tax, leave administration compliance, global mobility, or similar.
Position Details:
This is a term-funded position reviewed annually for contract renewal at the University's discretion.
This is a full-time, exempt staff position complete with both a competitive salary and full employee benefits package . UA provides a generous compensation package that includes retirement options, annual leave, 12 paid holidays per year, tuition waivers for employees and family members, and affordable medical, dental and vision care coverage. New hires will be placed on the UA Staff Salary Schedule , Grade 81, based on education and experience.
