Job description

Join AZAD Technology Partners as an Electronics Engineer and provide support to a large public-sector utility organization's commissioning and testing group within its transmission services division. This full-time contract engineering role delivers on-site engineering and project management support for construction and infrastructure projects. The position also serves as a field electronics engineer, coordinating and performing testing of communications and control equipment in high-voltage substations, radio sites, and control centers, as well as supporting modifications and upgrades to existing system installations across a multi-state service region. Responsibilities include extensive fieldwork and travel (up to 95%), along with laboratory testing and validation of equipment and systems to ensure reliability, compliance, and operational readiness.
This is a 2 year plus consultant position with high probability of long term and ongoing continued employment. This position is full time on site based in Vancouver, WA with onsite 5 days per week. The hourly pay rate range for this position (which includes a health and welfare fringe benefit of $5.09) is between $43.28 and $47.09 depending on related qualifications and experience, as well as composition of selected compensation package.
The ideal candidate must possess the minimum qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree in Electronic or Telecommunications Engineering or a directly related engineering field is required.
6 months of Electrical Engineering experience is required.
Candidates 3 months from graduation will be considered. Proof of degree may be requested after graduation.
Knowledge of engineering concepts, principles, and practices applicable to components and facilities found on a regional transmission system is required.
Training or experience in communications, control systems, or SCADA sufficient to allow knowledge development of design standards through on the job training.
Demonstrated ability to read and understand electrical schematics and prints to determine how communications and control systems operate.
Valid U.S. Driver's License or RealID is required.
Preferred Skills:
3 months experience using technical skills, communications standards, and industry approved work standards.
