Our roots derive from a long serving sports, entertainment and lifestyle insurance provider and we have grown to encompass a wide range of niche and specialty products including inland marine, aviation, marine, specialty casualty, accident and hard-to-place property.

Special Risk Insurance Managers is looking to add to our growing team with a full-time permanent receptionist. This position is suitable for those without any industry knowledge, but who hold previous reception experience.

**This position is based in-office 5 days per week as part of a small core group of full-time in-office staff.**

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Reception - answering & transferring calls (multiple lines)
  • Accepting deliveries & preparing packages for pick-up as required
  • Maintain accurate workstation equipment logs based on inventory
  • Workstation equipment intake, distribution & testing at instruction of IT team
  • Process/typing a variety of insurance related documents
  • Process policy changes, certificates & endorsements as required
  • Assist underwriting & senior teammates with servicing files & attaching pertinent information to files
  • Daily mail delivery to post office
  • Communicate internally & externally via telephone, email or other methods
  • Clerical duties, such as electronic filing & maintenance of records

Minimum Job Qualifications & Key Personal Attributes:

  • Experience running a multi-line switchboard
  • Strong organizational & time management skills to complete assignments effectively and within structured timelines
  • Strong writing/language & communication skills
  • Keen eye for detail
  • Interest in being involved with community outreach and company culture
  • Understanding of Microsoft Office Suite, Microsoft Office 365 & Google Drive is an asset
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Customer service experience - positive & professional communication skills
  • Reliable transportation - we are conveniently located near Carvolth Exchange in Langley if you rely on transit
  • Prior insurance industry knowledge is an asset, but not required

40000 - 45000 Annual

Actual salary will be determined based on qualifications, experience, and work location. Package may include base pay, commissions, and/or bonuses.
