Description
Job Description: The Registered Nurse/Licensed Practical Nurse works as part of a healthcare team under the supervision of the Nurse Manager, Clinical Leads, Practice Administrator and Physician by assisting in planning and implementing care interventions while promoting high quality patient care in a professional, efficient and safe manner.
Job Responsibilities:
• Assists physician and staff in coordinating patient care.
• Functions as primary liaison between patients, staff and physician.
• Greets patients and prepares them for physician examination. Screens patients for appropriate information. Assesses patient's general condition and takes vital signs in preparation for appointment.
• Prepares and administers patient injections, performs blood draws, processes in-house labs, and prepares lab samples to be sent out to Quest or Labcorp.
• Performs minor procedures such as but not limited to: urinary catherization, suture removal, cerumen irrigation, wound care, etc.
• Maintains exam rooms by stocking necessary supplies and materials as determined by practice protocol and physician preferences. Ensures cleanliness.
• Educates patient/family about diagnostic procedures, immunization protocols and potential side effects.
• Maintains/reviews patient EHR and other pertinent information. Records tests and examination results.
• Maintains patient confidentiality.
• Responsible for some administrative functions, such as completing health forms, scanning medical record documents, scheduling/rescheduling appointments.
• Perform other related duties as directed or required.
Requirements
2 or 4 year nursing degree
Salary Description
$26-$38 dollars/hour
