Are you an experienced building professional ready to take the next step in your career? Join Aoka as a Certified Building Official (CBO) and lead a team of building inspectors while serving as a subject matter expert for our sales team — making a tangible impact on construction quality, safety, and code enforcement across your area.

Why You’ll Love This Role
  • Top Compensation: $90,000–$120,000 annually, reflecting your experience and leadership
  • Comprehensive Benefits: Health, Dental, Vision, and 401(k) with 5% company match
  • Work-Life Balance: Enjoy 2 weeks of paid time off to start, 1 week of paid sick leave, and 12 paid holidays each year
  • Career Growth & Authority: Supervise building inspectors, manage inspection programs, support sales as a subject matter expert, and influence company practices
  • Tools to Succeed: Company-provided vehicle, access to ongoing training, and professional development opportunities
What You’ll Do
  • Supervise building inspectors and manage inspection programs
  • Serve as a subject matter expert supporting the sales team
  • Conduct client visits as needed for complex or escalated projects
  • Administer and enforce municipal, state, and federal building codes, safety, energy, and accessibility standards
  • Oversee issuance of building permits, plan approvals, occupancy certificates, and inspection reports
  • Interpret complex codes and provide guidance to architects, engineers, contractors, and property owners
  • Collaborate with fire, planning, zoning, engineering, and public works departments for coordinated code enforcement
  • Manage appeals, code updates, and ordinance revisions
  • Maintain accurate records and prepare reports on inspections, permitting, and code compliance
Qualifications
  • ICC Certified Building Official (CBO) required; additional ICC certifications (Plans Examiner, Building Inspector) highly desirable
  • Minimum 5–7 years of progressive experience in building inspection
  • Proven leadership and supervisory experience
  • Strong analytical skills and ability to solve complex code-related issues under pressure
  • Excellent communication and client-facing skills
