Description
Job Title: Diesel Mechanic Shop Manager
Amwaste is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Diesel Mechanic Shop Manager to oversee our busy diesel repair shop in Fairburn, GA. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in diesel mechanics and management, with a proven track record of success in leading a team of mechanics to deliver high-quality repairs and exceptional customer service.
Responsibilities:
- Manage and oversee all aspects of the diesel repair shop, including scheduling, staffing, and inventory management
- Ensure that all repairs are completed in a timely and efficient manner, meeting or exceeding customer expectations
- Hire, train, and supervise a team of diesel mechanics, providing guidance and support as needed
- Maintain a safe and clean work environment, adhering to all safety regulations and company policies
- Develop and implement processes and procedures to improve shop efficiency and productivity
- Maintain accurate records of all repairs, inventory, and customer interactions
- Communicate effectively with customers, providing updates on repair status and addressing any concerns or questions they may have
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent; technical degree or certification in diesel mechanics preferred
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in diesel mechanics, with at least 2 years in a management or supervisory role
- Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire a team
- Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities
- Proficient in the use of diagnostic tools and equipment
- Knowledge of diesel engine systems, including electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple priorities simultaneously
- Valid driver's license and clean driving record
