    OVERVIEW:


    Our client, one of the largest Energy companies in the US providing a wide range of Energy-related products and services to its customers, seeks an accomplished Estimator – Transmission & Substation Projects.

    ** TITLE: Estimator – Transmission & Substation Projects


    ** LOCATION: 2 Days Remote | 3 Days Onsite Role 4 Irving Place, New York City 10003


    ** DURATION: 12 months with possibilities of extension.


    ** WORK SCHEDULE: Monday – Friday


    Pay Rate: $70.00/hr. – $75.00/hr W2 (depending upon experience)


    Position Overview:


    • The Estimator will develop conceptual, authorization, and appropriation cost estimates for complex transmission and substation construction projects. This role supports major utility infrastructure initiatives, including renewable energy integration such as offshore wind, battery energy storage, and hydroelectric projects.
    • The ideal candidate has strong utility estimating experience, understands transmission and substation engineering, and can prepare detailed cost estimates from preliminary engineering scopes, drawings, and conceptual designs.


    Key Responsibilities:


    Cost Estimating

    • Develop conceptual, authorization, and appropriation cost estimates
    • Prepare electrical, mechanical, and civil estimates for transmission and substation projects
    • Analyze drawings, sketches, specifications, and preliminary scopes
    • Evaluate alternative engineering designs and recommend cost-effective solutions


    Project Support

    • Support large-scale transmission and utility infrastructure projects
    • Assist renewable energy integration initiatives
    • Collaborate with engineering, construction, and project management teams
    • Participate in project planning and budgeting activities


    Cost Analysis

    • Develop detailed labor, material, and equipment estimates
    • Utilize estimating software and databases
    • Review project risks and assumptions
    • Support capital budget planning


    Stakeholder Collaboration

    • Coordinate with engineering and construction teams
    • Communicate estimate assumptions and project costs
    • Prepare reports and presentations
    • Meet aggressive project deadlines while managing multiple priorities


    Required Qualifications:

    • Education: Bachelor's Degree required
    • 5+ years of estimating experience
    • Experience developing: Electrical cost estimates, Mechanical cost estimates, Civil cost estimates
    • Utility transmission and/or substation project experience
    • Technical: Electrical estimating, Mechanical estimating, Civil estimating, Substation construction, Transmission facility construction, Cost estimating, Budget development, Microsoft Project, Microsoft Office Suite, Estimating software, Cost databases
    • Preferred Qualifications: Utility capital budgeting experience
    • Authorization and appropriation estimating
    • Utility economics
    • Renewable energy project experience
    • Offshore wind projects
    • Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS)
    • Hydroelectric infrastructure
    • Knowledge of local, state, national, and industry codes and standards
