    Overview
    AMERICAN SYSTEMS is an employee-owned federal government contractor supporting national priority programs through our strategic solutions in the areas of Information Technology, Test & Evaluation, Program Mission Support, Engineering & Analysis, and Training.
    Responsibilities
    • Performs research and engineering laboratory functions involving the testing, analysis and evaluation of materials and processes.
    • Provides technical support to engineers on a variety of technical tasks.
    • Analyzes technical data to determine applicability to design problems; selects from several possible design layouts; calculates design data; and prepares layouts, detailed specifications, parts lists, estimates, procedures, etc.
    • Gathers, maintains, formats, compiles, and manipulates technical data, such as laboratory or material test results and engineering design changes.
    • Produces engineering documentation, reports, drawings (flow charts, block diagrams, and schematics).
    • Assembles electrical and electronic systems and prototypes according to engineering data and knowledge of electrical principles, using hand tools and measuring instruments.
    • Sets up and operates test equipment to evaluate performance of developmental parts, assemblies, or systems under simulated operating conditions, and records results.
    • Conducts pierside alteration installation and removals onboard US naval vessels.
    • Effectively interface with engineering, operational, and fleet personnel at all levels.

    Qualifications
    • High School diploma and 6 (six) years of related technical experience as an electrical, electronic, or mechanical technician in support of R&D or Test & Evaluation (T&E) of U.S. Naval systems
    • U.S. Citizenship Required for the purposes of obtaining/holding a U.S. security clearance
    • Able to obtain and maintain a SECRET security clearance
    • U.S. Navy Submarine Sonar experience
    • Able to obtain qualification to support underway events

    Pay Transparency Statement
    AMERICAN SYSTEMS is committed to pay transparency for our applicants and employee-owners. The salary range for this position is USD $80,000.00/Yr. - USD $90,000/Yr. Actual compensation will be determined based on several factors permitted by law. AMERICAN SYSTEMS provides for the welfare of its employees and their dependents through a comprehensive benefits program by offering healthcare benefits, paid leave, retirement plans, insurance programs, and education and training assistance.
