Job description

Job Summary

Plays a vital role in empowering our team members with visual impairments and other disabilities to achieve greater independence.  Provides individualized training, workplace support, and advocacy to ensure that each participant can develop the skills, confidence, and strategies needed to succeed in any chosen environment. This role blends job coaching, assistive technology support, workplace accommodation guidance, and team collaboration to ensure equitable access and longterm job success. This position reports to the Director, Accessibility Services.

Duties/Responsibilities

Accessibility Coordination

  • Supports accommodation and accessibility requests as directed with relevant internal and external resources.
  • Collaborates with teams to integrate accessibility into tools, workflows, and organizational culture.
  • Provides guidance on creating accessible documents, presentations, and digital content.
  • Supports staff providing service agency team members in various accessibility related areas.

Worksite Coaching

  • Provides employment support to visually impaired or disabled team members, ensuring they understand job expectations and can perform tasks efficiently and independently.
  • Conducts job analysis and help develop training plans to ensure team members master essential skills.
  • Collaborates with management to identify environmental or procedural barriers for team members who have visual impairments or multiple disabilities.
  • Organizes training opportunities for team members to build soft skills.

Training & Support 

  • Supports instruction tailored to the individual abilities and goals of team members.
  • Assesses needs and help deliver training sessions that support independence and skill progression for team members with visual impairments or other disabilities.

Documentation & Reporting

  • Maintains accurate case notes, progress reports, and service documentation.
  • Participates in team meetings and case reviews.
  • Engages in ongoing professional development and activities that support agency and program objectives.

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field (e.g., Education, Social Work, Technology, Human Resources) or equivalent experience.
  • Experience working with individuals who have visual impairments or other disabilities with strong willingness to learn about accessibility services and best practices.
  • Experience with accessibility coordination, mentoring, and job coaching.
