Lead Bartender – Primarily Day Shifts | ZuZu Napa

ZuZu is looking for an experienced, hospitality-driven Lead Bartender to help oversee our daytime bar program and lunch service. This is a hands-on position for someone who enjoys leading from behind the bar, connecting with guests, and keeping a busy operation organized and prepared.

The schedule will be primarily daytime shifts, with occasional evenings, weekends, and special events as needed.

What we’re looking for:

● Strong working knowledge of classic cocktails

● Genuine interest in Spanish wine, sherry, vermouth, gin, and craft spirits

● Excellent guest-service and communication skills

● Strong bar setup, preparation, organization, and cleaning habits

● Ability to lead by example and maintain consistent standards

● Comfortable bartending, serving tables, and supporting the floor

● Experience with inventory, ordering, product rotation, and cost control

● Ability to train and coach other bartenders

● Calm, professional, and efficient during high-volume service

● Reliable, punctual, and ready to take ownership of the daytime bar

Responsibilities include:

● Lead daytime bar preparation and service

● Maintain cocktail, wine, beer, and spirits standards

● Ensure the bar is fully stocked, clean, organized, and ready for service

● Support lunch service as both bartender and floor server when needed

● Assist with inventory, ordering, receiving, and product organization

● Train bartenders on recipes, technique, wine knowledge, and service

● Communicate maintenance, purchasing, and staffing needs to management

● Continued develop of the ZuZu Wine Bar and Spanish gin-and-tonic program

● Coordinate with The Bitter Bar and the broader beverage team

● Follow and enforce all ZuZu policies, recipes, opening procedures, and closing standards

ZuZu is a long-established, high-volume Spanish tapas restaurant in downtown Napa. Our service style is fun, lighthearted, and professional, with serious attention to food, wine, cocktails, and hospitality.

This position is best suited for an experienced bartender who wants stable daytime hours, leadership responsibility, and the opportunity to grow within an established restaurant and beverage program.
