As a Barback, you will be responsible for ensuring the bar is fully stocked, clean, and well-organized throughout service. This role is crucial in providing top-quality service to our guests by assisting with bar operations in a fast-paced environment. Come join us at Experience ZUZU Nashville where this role also has the potential for advancement!KEY RESPONSIBILITIES• Restock liquor, mixers, and garnishes behind the bar• Perform bussing responsibilities such as clearing empty cups/plates and trash from bartop and tables• Maintain overall appearance and cleanliness of bar (i.e. wipe down surfaces, push chairs and stools in, arrange bar stools, etc.)• Perform clean-ups of spills or other guest accidents as needed• Ensure bartenders are equipped with all mis en place at all times• Run food and/or drinks to proper tables• Check and refill ice bins• Assist bartenders with tidy openings and closingsQUALIFICATIONS• Previous barback or restaurant experience is a plus but not required.• Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-energy environment.• Strong teamwork and communication skills.• Must be able to lift heavy items (up to 50 lbs) and stand for long periods.• Availability to work nights, weekends, and holidays as needed.• Knowledge of basic bar operations and alcohol safety is a plus.WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FORAt Experience ZUZU Nashville, we use our unique experience and contributions to deliver more than value – we set new standards! Standing for Long Periods: Bartenders are usually on their feet for most, if not all, of their shifts, which can last several hours.Lifting and Carrying: Bartenders need to lift and carry heavy items such as kegs, boxes of liquor, beer cases, or ice buckets, which can weigh 20-50 pounds or more.Manual Dexterity and Coordination: Bartending requires precision in handling bottles, glasses, and tools. Fast, coordinated movements are essential for mixing drinks, pouring accurately, and working efficiently.Stamina and Endurance: The role can be physically taxing, with long shifts that may extend late into the night, requiring the bartender to remain energetic and focused.Repetitive Motions: Bartenders frequently repeat actions like shaking cocktails, opening bottles, and using bar tools, which can lead to strain over time.Good Vision and Hearing: Clear vision is necessary for reading labels, preparing drinks, and observing customers.
