Field Manager — New Construction Landscape Installation
Company: Established, growing residential landscape contractor
Location: Triangle area, NC (Raleigh / Durham / Chapel Hill and surrounding communities)
Type: Full-time, year-round
Compensation: $70,000–$85,000 base (DOE) + company truck, fuel card, and phone + performance bonus
About the Role
A well-established and growing landscape company serving national and regional homebuilders across the Triangle is hiring a Field Manager to own the install side of the business day to day. You’ll run multiple crews across multiple subdivisions and hit builder schedules without sacrificing quality.
This is a production role, not a maintenance role. If you’ve managed landscape installs against builder closing calendars and know what it takes to pass a clean walkthrough, this is built for you. Inquiries are handled in strict confidence.
What You’ll Do
• Run multiple install crews across active subdivisions, scheduling work to hit builder grading-to-closing windows
• Read and interpret site plans, plot plans, and landscape plans, and confirm installs match builder specs and HOA/municipal requirements
• Manage daily crew assignments, productivity, materials, and equipment to keep jobs on schedule and on budget
• Own quality control: walk jobs before builder walkthroughs, catch and clear punch-list items, and represent the company professionally with builder superintendents and PMs
• Coordinate sod, plant material, irrigation, and grading work, and troubleshoot site issues (drainage, delivery slips, weather) in real time
• Track job progress and communicate status clearly to ownership
What We’re Looking For
Required
• 3+ years managing landscape installation crews, ideally on new-construction / production homebuilding
• Proven ability to run multiple crews and multiple jobs at once against hard deadlines
• Ability to read landscape and site plans
• Bilingual (English/Spanish) for crew communication
• Working knowledge of NC plant material and sod (fescue, bermuda, zoysia, centipede), irrigation basics, and grading
• Valid NC driver’s license, insurable, clean enough record to operate a company vehicle
Strongly preferred
• Existing relationships with Triangle-area homebuilder field staff (superintendents, PMs)
• Familiarity with local requirements: erosion/sediment control, tree protection ordinances, inspection expectations
• NC pesticide and/or irrigation license
Compensation & Benefits
• $70,000–$85,000 base depending on experience
• Company truck, fuel card, and phone
• Performance bonus tied to on-time, clean install completions
How to Apply
To apply in confidence, send a resume and a short note about the new-construction install work you’ve managed. Please include the largest number of crews and concurrent communities you’ve run at once.
