Job description

About the Role

XRT is a defense technology company transforming how U.S. military personnel train and maintain readiness through advanced immersive training technology.

XRT is seeking a Field Service Representative (FSR) to support the Amphibious Combat Vehicle Driver Training System (ACV-DTS). As XRT's primary representative at your assigned location, your mission is to maximize DTS availability, utilization, and training value—ensuring Marines and instructors can get the greatest possible use from the systems provided.

You will own the day-to-day readiness of the DTS, actively support training operations, troubleshoot technical issues, train users, maintain equipment accountability, and identify opportunities to increase system utilization. You will serve as the critical link between Marines in the field and XRT's software, hardware, and program teams.

What You'll Do

  • Drive DTS utilization by working directly with instructors, units, and Government personnel to ensure available systems are actively supporting Marine Corps training requirements.
  • Own the day-to-day operational readiness and availability of ACV-DTS systems at your assigned location.
  • Provide on-site technical support from 0830–1630, Monday–Friday, including same-day support or response within two hours of a request, as required.
  • Serve as XRT's primary on-site technical representative and point of contact for Marines, instructors, operators, and Government personnel.
  • Troubleshoot hardware, software, networking, XR/VR equipment, motion/simulation components, and integrated system issues and coordinate corrective actions to minimize downtime.
  • Provide Instructor/Operator, Train-the-Trainer, ad hoc, and over-the-shoulder training to increase user proficiency and independent system use.
  • Proactively engage supported organizations to identify upcoming training opportunities and help integrate the DTS into unit training.
  • Inventory, inspect, functionally test, track, and maintain accountability of DTS equipment and spare components; perform or coordinate the repair or replacement of failed equipment.
  • Document failures, maintenance actions, troubleshooting, corrective actions, system utilization, and recurring technical issues; support required monthly reporting, including usage metrics and helpdesk and on-site problem reports.
  • Support system start-up, software loading, pre-operational readiness checks, insertion of initial mission conditions and parameters, and other activities necessary to establish a ready-for-training condition before scheduled training.
  • Provide actionable feedback from Marines and instructors to XRT's engineering and program teams to improve system reliability, usability, and training effectiveness.

Who You Are

  • You take ownership—when a system goes down or is underutilized, you identify why and work toward a solution.
  • You are comfortable working directly with Marines and understand military training environments and operational requirements.
  • You can methodically troubleshoot complex integrated hardware/software systems.
  • You are willing to travel CONUS and OCONUS as required.
  • You are a U.S. citizen, can access U.S. military installations, and can obtain and maintain a Common Access Card (CAC) if required.

Preferred Experience

Prior U.S. Marine Corps or military service; ACV/AAV or tactical vehicle experience; military instructor, operator, maintainer, FSR, or simulator technician experience; and/or experience supporting XR/VR, simulation, networking, computers, motion platforms, or integrated training systems.

Onboarding & Travel

FSRs will complete approximately three weeks of onboarding and technical training at XRT's Orlando, FL office, covering DTS architecture, hardware/software configuration, troubleshooting, maintenance, XR/VR components, system readiness, reporting, and Instructor/Operator training.

Additional travel may include Camp Pendleton, CA; Camp Lejeune, NC; Camp Schwab, Okinawa, Japan; Norfolk, VA; and Jacksonville, FL for fielding and technical support. FSRs will also travel to XRT's Orlando office approximately four times annually for three-day technical training, product updates, lessons learned, and program coordination.
