Industrial & Systems Engineer

Company: XPI Corp

Location: South Florida, ideally within a reasonable traveling distance of West Palm Beach, Jupiter or Delray Beach

Working model: Hybrid and home-based, with local and international travel

Employment type: Full-time

Target start date: September 2026

Compensation: Circa $65k - $80k plus performance-related annual bonus

About the opportunity

XPI Corp is seeking a highly capable Industrial & Systems Engineer to work directly with the President across a diverse portfolio of businesses. This is not a traditional manufacturing-based engineering role. The successful candidate will help design, improve, and implement the systems, processes, and operating disciplines that enable multiple businesses to perform more effectively.

The role would suit a recent Industrial Engineering or Industrial and Systems Engineering graduate who is intellectually curious, highly organized, and energized by solving complex operational problems. Previous professional experience is not essential. The ability to learn quickly, take ownership, and turn ambiguity into practical action is far more important.

The role

You will examine how work is performed across different companies, identify where time, money, information, or effort is being lost, and develop practical systems that improve efficiency, communication, and execution. Working closely with the President, you will move between strategic analysis and hands-on implementation. One assignment may involve redesigning a workflow or building a performance dashboard, while another may require visiting an operation, interviewing employees, or resolving a breakdown between departments. The role requires someone who does not stop at identifying a problem. You will be expected to find a solution, implement it, and confirm that it is delivering the intended result.

Key responsibilitiesSystems and process improvement
  • Analyze operational systems, business processes, and procedures across multiple companies.
  • Identify inefficiencies, bottlenecks, duplication, communication gaps, and areas of avoidable cost.
  • Design and implement practical systems that improve productivity, consistency, and accountability.
  • Document workflows, operating procedures, and decision-making responsibilities.
  • Standardize effective practices while recognizing that each business may require a different approach.
Operational analysis
  • Map end-to-end workflows and evaluate how people, information, materials, technology, and finances interact.
  • Conduct time, motion, and capacity studies where appropriate.
  • Review staffing, workload distribution, and resource utilization.
  • Perform cost and performance analysis to support operational decisions.
  • Assess whether existing systems and procedures are achieving their intended purpose.
Performance and continuous improvement
  • Establish meaningful performance measures and key performance indicators.
  • Build simple reporting tools and dashboards that provide clear operational visibility.
  • Track productivity, turnaround times, quality, downtime, costs and other relevant measures.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives
  • Monitor implemented changes and refine them based on results.
Cross-functional coordination
  • Improve communication and information flow between departments, businesses, and external partners.
  • Work with employees and leaders to understand operational challenges and develop workable solutions.
  • Translate broad ideas from the President into structured plans, processes, and actions.
  • Coordinate projects across different cultures, locations, and time zones.
  • Present findings and recommendations clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Implementation and problem-solving
  • Take ownership of assigned operational problems from diagnosis through to resolution.
  • Develop practical solutions rather than relying solely on theoretical analysis.
  • Visit business locations when direct observation or intervention is required.
  • Support the implementation of new tools, systems, procedures, and ways of working.
  • Manage multiple assignments simultaneously in a fast-paced entrepreneurial environment.
Candidate profile

We are looking for someone who is:

  • A recent graduate in Industrial Engineering, Industrial and Systems Engineering, Operations Engineering, or a closely related discipline.
  • A rapid learner who can quickly understand unfamiliar businesses and operating environments.
  • Highly organized, analytical, and attentive to detail.
  • A creative and resourceful problem-solver.
  • Comfortable working with limited structure and creating order from ambiguity.
  • Able to move confidently between analysis, planning, and hands-on execution.
  • Self-directed, dependable, and willing to take responsibility for outcomes.
  • Comfortable working closely with a founder or entrepreneurial business leader.
  • Able to communicate effectively with people from different professional and cultural backgrounds.
  • Willing and able to travel domestically and internationally when required.
  • Based in South Florida, preferably near West Palm Beach, Jupiter, or Delray Beach.
Preferred capabilities
  • Understanding of process mapping, workflow analysis, and continuous improvement methods.
  • Confidence using spreadsheets, data analysis, and visual reporting tools.
  • Ability to develop clear procedures, process maps, project plans, and performance reports.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Mandarin or another relevant international language would be advantageous, but is not required.
What success will look like

During the first 12 months, the successful candidate will have:

  • Built a clear understanding of the businesses within the XPI portfolio.
  • Identified and prioritized significant operational improvement opportunities.
  • Designed and implemented repeatable processes across selected business areas.
  • Improved visibility through meaningful performance measures and reporting.
  • Reduced inefficiency, delays, duplication, or unnecessary cost.
  • Strengthened communication and coordination between departments and businesses.
  • Become a trusted operational partner to the President.
Working environment

This is a hybrid, predominantly home-based role with some office-based work and regular travel as needed. The environment is entrepreneurial, international, and fast-moving. Priorities may evolve quickly, and the successful candidate must be comfortable applying sound judgment, adapting their approach, and maintaining momentum without requiring constant direction.

To be considered candidates need to send a video on why they are great for the role and what they bring to the table.
