Job description

The High School Pastor leads high school students to know and love God. They oversee all aspects of programming for the high school services. This person reports to the Student Pastor.


Schedule

This is a full-time, exempt position requiring 40-45 hours per week. The schedule includes hours on Sundays, youth group, designated office hours during the week, and occasional flexibility for events outside of regular hours.


Experience and Abilities

  1. Education: Degree in ministry or theology preferred.
  2. Experience: Must possess prior experience in leading youth-oriented programs and curriculum. Have a proven track record of positive teen interactions and have a history of good interactions with parents of teenagers. Experience in a large church setting is preferred.
  3. License/Certification: Maintain licensing through WCMN. A valid PA driver's license.
  4. Specific Abilities: Ability to present God's Word in a way that connects with students. Comfortable with handling various student issues and communicating possible concerns to parents. Effective team player with a cooperative attitude across various Worship Center departments.


Key Responsibilities

  • Design, lead, and implement weekly high school ministry gatherings.
  • Present the Word of God in a clear and relevant manner for the intended audience.
  • Recruit and train volunteer leaders to build meaningful discipleship-oriented relationships with students.
  • Be a student ministry presence on Sunday morning, connecting with students and families.
  • Provide pastoral care for high school students and families.
  • Provide, plan and facilitate opportunities for students to be involved in serving at Worship Center.
  • Plan age-appropriate activities such as camps, events, and outreach opportunities.


Key Responsibilities (continued)

  • Provide regular communication for families.
  • Perform necessary administrative duties that support the ministry. This includes preparing the budget.
  • Other duties as assigned.
