Job Summary:
Worldwide Placement Limited is an innovative company focused on building the leading AI talent agent to connect candidates with job opportunities at startups in the US. The Founding Engineer will take ownership of systems that scale, including candidate data infrastructure and real-time matching engines, while working in a fast-paced startup environment.
Responsibilities:
• You'll take ownership of one or more of these systems as they scale:
• Candidate Data Infrastructure - "Senior SWE" and "Sr. Software Engineer" are the same thing, but keyword search doesn't know that. Build the pipeline that parses resumes, pulls from LinkedIn and GitHub, uses LLMs to extract real skills and seniority, and handles 10K+ outbound messages a day without landing in spam.
• Agentic Conversation System - Build the agents that text candidates, answer their questions about comp and role details, handle objections, and book calls. Without sounding like a bot or getting facts wrong.
• Real-Time Matching Engine - Our AI agent needs to find "React engineer, 3-5 years, SF" and return the right people in under 100ms. Knowing that "React.js" and "ReactJS" are the same, and that 4 years at Google means something different than 4 years at a seed startup.
Qualifications:
Required:
• Exceptional performance in fast-paced, high-impact environments (e.g. startups, building from scratch, shipping under pressure)
• Minimum 2 years of experience
• English C2 language proficiency
• Full Stack Development skills
• Experience with React.JS
• Experience with TypeScript
• Experience with Next.js
• Experience with Supabase
• Experience with Prism (ORM)
• Comfortable across the stack
• Experience shipping production systems that handle real scale
• Experience working with LLMs beyond basic prompting
• Ability to make decisions with incomplete information
• Experience building something from scratch (side project, startup, internal tool)
Preferred:
• Experience in AI/ML tooling & HR Tech
• Experience with user load, data volume, or complexity that breaks naive approaches
• Experience with embeddings, RAG, agent architectures, or similar
