Job Summary:

The Project Coordinator plays a key role in supporting day-to-day PSTV productions, educational programming, and multimedia initiatives within the School District of Philadelphia's PSTV studio. This role focuses on coordinating studio-based projects, supporting student productions, assisting with digital media content creation, and contributing to educational and community-based programming efforts. The Program Coordinator will collaborate closely with students, educators, PSTV staff, and community partners to support productions, livestreams, event coverage, and school-based initiatives aligned with PSTV's mission to provide equitable access to multimedia tools and real-world industry experience. The ideal candidate brings a blend of media production knowledge, organizational skills, and adaptability to support a fast-paced, student-centered multimedia environment.

Essential Responsibilities:

Coordinate and support day-to-day studio productions, educational programming, and multimedia projects.

Gather, organize, and edit video content for PSTV productions, school-based storytelling initiatives, promotional materials, and digital media content.

Support video editing projects from intake through final delivery, including file organization, rough cuts, exports, caption preparation, and media archiving.

Assist with the coordination and scheduling of studio-based productions, livestreams, student projects, and internal production timelines.

Support students in all phases of media production, including filming, editing, and broadcasting.

Provide occasional support to Media Hubs and school-based initiatives through school visits, editing support, project assistance, and follow-up communication.

Assist with the planning and execution of livestreams, studio productions, special events, and Board of Education meeting coverage.

Support event coverage across School District of Philadelphia schools, charter schools, private and parochial schools, recreation centers, libraries, and Central Office locations.

Ensure all content and productions meet PSTV quality, accessibility, and broadcast standards.

Create and assist with instructional materials, lesson support, and training resources for students, educators, and participating partners.

Work collaboratively with PSTV staff to coordinate schedules, equipment usage, production priorities, and project needs.

Monitor and maintain studio equipment, digital media files, edit stations, and production spaces to ensure safe and organized operations.

Maintain records related to editing projects, production schedules, participation metrics, event coverage, and assigned deliverables.

Represent PSTV professionally during productions, school visits, community events, and related activities.

Track and compile program and production data to support reporting and continuous improvement initiatives.

Perform other duties as assigned in support of PSTV operations and educational programming.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required:

Bachelor's degree in Communications, Media Studies, Broadcasting, Film, Education, or a related field, or equivalent relevant experience

2+ years of experience in multimedia production, educational programming, production coordination, or related media support roles

Proficiency with video production tools, including cameras, audio equipment, editing software, and digital media file management

Strong organizational skills and attention to detail

Ability to manage multiple assignments, priorities, and deadlines in a fast-paced production environment

Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively with students, educators, staff, and community partners

Willingness to support occasional travel to schools and community sites throughout Philadelphia

Availability to support evening livestreams, Board of Education meeting coverage, and special events as needed

Preferred:

Experience working with K-12 students or in school-based settings

Familiarity with Adobe Creative Suite and digital media tools

Experience supporting livestreams, multimedia productions, or educational programming

Experience developing instructional or media literacy content
