Job description

Mechanical Assembly Technician

Location: Irvine, California
Job Type: Full-Time
Pay Range: $20.00 – $28.00 per hour
Schedule: Monday – Friday, Overtime as Needed

Position Summary

We are seeking a hands-on Mechanical Assembly Technician to assemble antenna and RF-related products using hand tools, rivet tools, drills, adhesives, epoxy, and light finishing processes. The ideal candidate has experience in manufacturing or mechanical assembly environments and takes pride in producing high-quality work with strong attention to detail.

This position requires the ability to follow engineering drawings, assembly instructions, and quality standards while working in a fast-paced production environment.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Assemble antenna, RF, and related mechanical components according to engineering drawings, work instructions, and specifications.
  • Use hand tools, power tools, rivet guns, drills, torque tools, and measuring instruments safely and effectively.
  • Apply adhesives, epoxies, sealants, and other materials as required during assembly.
  • Perform light finishing work, including deburring, sanding, cleaning, labeling, and packaging.
  • Inspect completed assemblies for quality, accuracy, and compliance with specifications.
  • Identify and report defects, material shortages, or process issues to supervisors.
  • Maintain accurate production records and documentation.
  • Follow all company safety procedures and quality standards.
  • Keep workstations clean, organized, and compliant with workplace safety requirements.
  • Collaborate with engineering, quality, and production teams to meet production goals.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • One (1) year or more of mechanical assembly, manufacturing, production, or related experience preferred.
  • Experience using hand tools and power tools.
  • Ability to read and follow assembly instructions, blueprints, or technical drawings.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Basic math and measurement skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience assembling RF, telecommunications, antenna, aerospace, or electronic products.
  • Familiarity with rivet installation, adhesives, epoxies, and mechanical fastening methods.
  • Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, reach, and perform repetitive hand movements throughout the workday.
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds with or without reasonable accommodation.
  • Ability to use hand and power tools safely.
  • Visual ability to inspect components and finished products.

Work Environment

  • Manufacturing and assembly environment.
  • Exposure to tools, machinery, adhesives, and production equipment.
  • Use of personal protective equipment (PPE) may be required.
