Job description

Position Summary

The RN Unit Manager is responsible for overseeing the daily clinical operations of an assigned nursing unit, ensuring quality resident care, regulatory compliance, staff development, and positive patient outcomes. This role serves as a key leader within the nursing department and works closely with interdisciplinary teams to drive excellence in resident care. These are 12-hour daytime shifts on a rotating schedule to cover every other weekend.

Essential Responsibilities
  • Oversee daily operations of an assigned nursing unit.

  • Ensure residents receive high-quality, compassionate, and individualized care.

  • Lead, coach, and support nursing staff to achieve clinical excellence.

  • Conduct assessments, care plan reviews, and clinical monitoring.

  • Monitor and improve quality measures and resident outcomes.

  • Maintain compliance with federal, state, and facility regulations.

  • Collaborate with physicians, therapists, families, and interdisciplinary team members.

  • Manage staffing, scheduling, and employee performance within the unit.

  • Assist with admissions, discharges, and care transitions as needed.

  • Participate in surveys, audits, and quality improvement initiatives.

Qualifications
  • Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in Tennessee.

  • Long-term care or skilled nursing experience preferred.

  • Previous leadership or supervisory experience preferred.

  • Strong clinical assessment and critical thinking skills.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.

  • Knowledge of Medicare, Medicaid, and regulatory requirements.

  • Commitment to providing exceptional resident-centered care.
