Job description

WIN Waste Innovations is looking for an Environmental Technician to operate and maintain the Hydrogen Sulfide Treatment Plant, Gas Collection and Control System (GCCS), and Leachate Collection System (LCS) systems as required by Local, County, State and Federal regulations.
Responsibilities:
  • Collect samples and record data on the operation of the control systems as required.
  • Evaluate data and make informed decisions effecting the day-to-day operations of the control systems.
  • Conduct repairs and perform preventive maintenance on flare, treatment plant and other associated controls systems per manufacture specifications.
  • Respond to system malfunctions and operate on a rotating on call schedule.

Requirements:
  • 3 years landfill experience or technical skills certificate
  • Has experience in mechanical work and electrical diagnostics
  • Has experience or has demonstrated a high degree of aptitude in analytical problem solving
  • Has experience using field testing equipment, meters and various sampling equipment
  • Has experience in the use of hand tools, power tools and pneumatic tools
  • Has the ability to read and interpret operating manuals, schematics, and drawings
  • PLC, SCADA, and other controls experience
  • Air compressor maintenance experience refrigerated dryer knowledge
  • Has experience working on blowers and electric motors, pneumatic and electric pumps
  • Ability to work overtime, weekends and/or holidays to include Night Shift
  • Maintain positive work environment by acting and communicating in a manner so that you get along with customers, clients, vendors, co-workers and management.

Preferred Skills:
  • Low voltage electrical troubleshooting
  • Emissions controls, analyzer operation knowledge/experience
  • Safety orientated

Physical Demands include but is not limited to:
  • Handle tools, equipment, fine motor skills
  • Reach with hands and arms
  • Climb and walk on heights often greater than 4 feet
  • Ascend and descend stairs and stationary vertical ladders as part of normal work activity and emergency egress situations
  • Lift moderate to heavy material 50 lbs. Move about all areas of the plant, including catwalks, deck grating, wet and muddy areas, and uneven surfaces
  • Operate other equipment including, but not limited to, industrial forklifts, manlifts, skid steer type loaders, and other mobile
  • Ability to work in all weather conditions
  • Perform additional duties as assigned
