Introduction
Prince William Public Libraries (PWPL) is seeking an engaged, service-driven Branch Manager (Library Manager) to lead the Nokesville Library team. This position oversees a small, dedicated staff of one full-time and three part-time public service professionals and plays a key role in shaping customer experience for the Nokesville community.

About This Role:
  • Supervises staff, including scheduling, creating and writing annual evaluations, facilitating the staff discipline process as needed and managing employees to improve/maximize performance.
  • Provides Branch operational and donation account budget oversite, completing all applicable financial paperwork.
  • Provides excellent customer service at an integrated service desk.
  • Conducts programming and outreach
  • Manages the facility, opening and closing the branch and submitting maintenance requests as needed.
  • Provides excellent internal and external customer service.

Minimum Requirements:
High school diploma or G.E.D. and 7 years of public library experience.
Preferences:
The successful candidate will demonstrate strong leadership in overseeing the day-to-day operations of all public service functions within the branch. Preferred experience includes:
  • One (1) year or more of supervisory experience of library staff.
  • Four (4) years of experience providing customer service, including policy interpretation, assisting visitors, and preparing incident reports.
  • One (1) year of experience conducting programs and community outreach.
  • One (1) year of experience managing or monitoring a budget.
  • One (1) year of experience performing collection maintenance or related tasks.
  • Six (6) months of experience coordinating or supervising volunteers.
  • Six (6) months of experience managing facility operations, including opening and closing a building and submitting maintenance requests.

Special Requirements: The position may require travel to other branches within the system. A DMV check will be conducted for employees who drive while on County business.
Work Schedule: This is a full-time, 37.5 hours per week exempt position. Nokesville Library's current operating hours are: Monday-Wednesday 10a.m. - 6p.m., Thursday 10a.m. - 5p.m., Friday and Saturday 10a.m. - 2p.m. Schedule may vary depending upon the needs of the library.
Starting Salary Range:
$82,777.5 - $96,905.25
