Whitlock Fire Protection is seeking an experienced and dependable Sprinkler Fitter or Aspiring Sprinkler Fitter to join our team. We are a fire protection company specializing in fire sprinkler inspections, testing, maintenance, repairs, and service for commercial and residential properties.

The ideal candidate is knowledgeable in fire sprinkler systems, takes pride in quality workmanship, and is comfortable working independently in the field.

Responsibilities

• Perform inspections, testing, maintenance, and repairs of fire sprinkler systems.

• Troubleshoot sprinkler system deficiencies and identify necessary repairs.

• Perform valve inspections, testing, and maintenance.

• Service fire sprinkler system components, including control valves, alarm devices, backflow preventers, and related equipment.

• Complete repairs and modifications to existing sprinkler systems.

• Assist with fire sprinkler system shutdowns, impairments, and restorations.

• Read and interpret sprinkler system drawings and plans.

• Maintain accurate service and inspection documentation.

• Communicate professionally with customers, property managers, and other contractors.

• Follow all applicable NFPA standards, fire codes, company procedures, and safety requirements.

• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.

• Operate company vehicles and maintain tools and equipment in good working condition.

Qualifications

• Previous experience as a fire sprinkler fitter/service technician preferred.

• Strong knowledge of fire sprinkler systems and components.

• Experience with inspection, testing, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of sprinkler systems.

• Ability to work independently and manage daily service calls efficiently.

• Ability to read plans and understand sprinkler system layouts.

• Strong mechanical and problem-solving skills.

• Professional communication and customer service skills.

• Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.

• Ability to lift equipment, climb ladders, work in mechanical rooms, and perform physical work as required.

• Willingness to work occasional overtime or after-hours emergency calls when needed.

Preferred Qualifications

• NICET certification or other relevant fire protection certification.

• Experience with NFPA 13, NFPA 25, and related fire protection standards.

• Experience with commercial fire sprinkler systems.

• Backflow testing certification is a plus.

• Previous experience performing annual, quarterly, and five-year fire sprinkler inspections.
