Machinist

Job Description:

• Working Machinist
• Manufacture and make repairs per instruction and/or drawings
• Operate all machine shop equipment
• Perform milling operations such as drilling, tapping, boring and conventional milling, and lathe work, using various engine lathes (e.g., horizontal and vertical mills and horizontal boring mills).
• Operate overhead cranes and perform rigging
• Perform incoming and outgoing inspections
• Properly fill out all paperwork

Qualifications:

• Minimum 5 years experience operating milling machines, lathes, boring mills, and grinders
• Must have ability to work with extremely close tolerances (i.e. .0005" to .001") and meet allotted time frames
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Must be willing to work overtime
• Must be able to lift and carry up to 30 pounds.
• Prior electric motor experience or in a machine shop is beneficial and prior work experience, and/or certification, doing mig and tig welding a plus.

Position Type and Expected Hours of Work

• Full-time position.
• Monday through Friday
• Overtime as needed
• Possibility of on call rotation for emergency after hours

• Negotiable based on experience
