Job description

Role Overview

We are seeking a skilled Project Architect to lead the development of custom single-family homes through the Design Development, Permitting, and Construction Documentation phases. The role will have a focus on leading documentation, consultant coordination, permitting, and construction detailing. The ideal candidate is confident working in Revit, experienced with the coordination and detailing of single-family projects, and capable of managing junior staff and external collaborators in a fast-paced environment.

This role is positioned as the technical/documentation lead and consultant/contractor-facing PM throughout the production, documentation, and construction phases.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the production and management of detailed construction documents in Revit
  • Coordinate closely with consultants, contractors, and internal teams to translate design intent into buildable, code-compliant solutions
  • Oversee and assemble documentation for permitting
  • Manage construction administration tasks including RFIs, submittals, site visits, and revisions (as needed) - responsibilities during construction will vary depending on whether projects are constructed by Westside Build team or by others
  • Supervise and mentor junior staff, ensuring quality control and efficient workflow
  • Maintain a clear understanding of project schedules, budgets, and deliverables
  • Support the design team in developing technically viable solutions

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Architecture from an accredited institution
  • 7-10 years of professional experience working on custom single-family residential projects (ideally in Los Angeles)
  • Advanced proficiency in Revit, including project setup, modeling, detailing, and documentation workflows
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD and Bluebeam
  • Expertise in architectural detailing, technical coordination, and document standards
  • Strong communication and team leadership skills, especially when working with junior staff and outside consultants
