Position Summary
The Enrollment Clerk will represent the college to current and prospective students, high school counselors, parents, and other College visitors, and provide them with assistance and information regarding admissions and financial aid. The Enrollment Clerk must have skill in preparing and presenting workshops, customer service, computer application and basic office procedures.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities

1. Serve as a public face of the Enrollment Services department, including responding to telephone calls and emails, contacting third parties regarding financial aid recipients and admissions applicants, and assisting students and visitors to the office.
2. Processing admissions applications and documents.
3. Review student files to assure eligibility requirements are met, and notify students of any deficiencies, and provide general assistance to students, prospective students, and their families regarding enrollment matters.
4. Provide Admissions information to students, parents, counselors, and others.
5. Maintain enrollment records and assist in the preparation of various enrollment management reports.
6. Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned, required, or directed by the College. The College reserves the right to assign additional tasks and to alter or reassign job duties as necessary to meet business and operational needs.
7. In order to perform these essential functions, the Enrollment Clerk must be present at work. Therefore, attendance is an essential function.

Qualifications

1. Minimum of one year postsecondary education with 15 semester hours in related field.
2. One year of related experience preferred.
3. Must have knowledge of general business and office procedures, and must be proficient in the use of generally used administrative computing systems and computer programs such as Microsoft Word and Excel.
4. Must have knowledge of federal and state financial aid programs and college admission requirements.
5. Must have good interpersonal skills, the ability to perform basic arithmetic, the ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing, and the ability to read and comprehend written materials.
6. Must have availability and willingness to work a flexible schedule, including evenings.
7. Must possess a valid driver's license.

SALARY: Appropriate placement on State Salary Schedule E4 ($34,298-$51,793) of the Alabama Community College System Salary Schedule.

Sick Leave
All regular full-time non-instructional staff earns one day of sick leave which is the equivalent of 8 hours of sick leave per month. Unused sick leave is rolled over to the following year. Upon retirement, employees are allowed to convert unused sick time into service time for the purpose of retirement. Retirement
The TRS was established in 1939 to provide benefits to qualified persons employed by state-supported educational institutions. Responsibility for the management and administration of the TRS is vested in its Board of Control. The Boards of Control elect the Secretary-Treasurer who serves as the Chief Executive Officer of the RSA and is responsible for the day-to-day management of the RSA. The TRS is a defined benefit plan qualified under Section 401(a) of the Internal Revenue Code. Tuition Assistance
This tuition waiver program is designed for all full-time instructional and non-instructional employees of The Alabama College System and the Alabama Department of Postsecondary Education and their dependents as defined under by policy. The program will be coordinated by each institution for employees within The Alabama College System and the Alabama Department of Postsecondary Education. An application form for the tuition assistance program is available in the Human Resources office and should be completed prior to registration for classes.
