Job description

PLEASE READ BEFORE APPLYING: This is an executive leadership position at a luxury

fitness facility. The General Manager oversees the operations of a multi-faceted luxury fitness

facility spanning medical fitness, group and personal training, retail, and food & beverage.

Candidates whose experience is limited to restaurant, hotel, hospitality management, or

Objective

The General Manager is the senior operations executive of WIND ATHLTX, accountable to the

Owner/CEO for the performance of the entire facility. This role owns day-to-day execution

across every business unit under one roof; fitness programming, recovery, medical fitness,

retail, and food & beverage, ensuring the 27,000 sq ft flagship operates with precision,

consistency, and excellence.

The General Manager bridges strategic leadership with operational execution: maintaining floor

standards, managing staffing accountability, owning P&L performance, and driving the weekly

KPI rhythm that keeps the organization operationally elite. The General Manager owns member

experience quality, staff performance, revenue-per-sq-ft optimization, and the operational

foundation that supports WIND ATHLTX's brand promise.

Core Responsibilities

1. Multi-Department Operations Leadership

  • Direct daily operations across all business units: fitness floor, medical fitness, retail, food& beverage, front desk, and facilities
  • Establish and enforce daily operational rhythms (opening procedures, peak-hour management, closing protocols)
  • Ensure each department meets its revenue, service, and brand standards, and that handoffs between departments are seamless
  • Manage facility maintenance, equipment upkeep, and vendor relationships; ensure the facility is always guest-ready and brand-aligned
  • Maintain compliance with all health, safety, and regulatory requirements, including standards specific to medical fitness services
  • Handle emergency situations and crisis management

2. Financial Performance & P&L Ownership

  • Own facility P&L: revenue, payroll budgets, inventory control, and operating expenses across all departments
  • Drive revenue-per-sq-ft optimization across fitness, medical fitness, retail, and F&B offerings
  • Manage labor schedules to align coverage with budgeted hours and peak demand without overstaffing
  • Work with the Member Experience Manager on membership retention and upsell
  • Negotiate vendor and service agreements; hold vendors to SLA standards
  • Control operational expenses while maintaining premium standards

3. People Leadership & Accountability

  • Lead, schedule, and develop a 20+ person cross-departmental team
  • Hold staff accountable to performance standards and KPIs; conduct performance reviews and coaching conversations
  • Recruit and develop a pipeline of management and staff talent; create clear career pathways
  • Enforce attendance, punctuality, and professional standards; manage escalations and difficult conversations
  • Serve as the primary escalation point and final decision-maker for operational, member, and staff issues
  • Partner with the Fitness Director on coaching quality, floor coverage during peak blocks, and programming-related operational issues

4. KPI Rhythm & Continuous Improvement

  • Lead weekly KPI review meetings with the leadership team and report operational metrics to the Owner/CEO
  • Track cleanliness scores, staff satisfaction, utilization rates, and revenue metrics across all departments
  • Identify trends, drive corrective action, and use data to drive continuous improvement-
  • Document escalations and decisions for organizational learning

  • Experience overseeing integrated retail and food & beverage operations within a fitness or wellness facility
  • Familiarity with medical fitness services and related compliance and safety standards
