Job description

THIS IS NOT A REMOTE POSITION.


We are seeking a proactive Assistant Construction Manager to support daily job-site operations, coordinate subcontractors, and help keep our commercial and residential projects on schedule and within budget. This role is ideal for an ambitious professional with a background in Construction Management schooling and 1–3 years of field experience who is ready to step up and learn the ropes of project leadership from the ground up.


Key Responsibilities

  • Site Supervision: Assist the Construction Manager and Superintendent with daily site inspections, quality control checks, and progress tracking.
  • Subcontractor Management: Help coordinate daily sub-trade schedules, ensure trade overlap is minimized, and address minor field clashes as they arise.
  • Documentation & Admin: Draft and track Requests for Information (RFIs), submittals, field change directives, and daily job logs.
  • Schedule & Budget Support: Assist in monitoring baseline project schedules, tracking material deliveries, and reviewing monthly pay applications.
  • Safety Enforcement: Walk the job site daily to enforce OSHA compliance, company safety protocols, and proper site hygiene.
  • Stakeholder Coordination: Help draft weekly project status reports for owners, architects, and internal project teams.

Qualifications & Requirements

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree or Associate degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Building Science, or a related field.
  • Experience: 1–3 years of experience in project engineering, estimating, or field coordination (relevant internship or co-op experience applies).
  • Technical Proficiency: Hands-on experience with construction management software (e.g., Builder Trend, HouzzPro, Building Connected, Procore, Bluebeam Revu, MS Project, or Primavera P6).
  • Blueprint Reading: Strong ability to read and interpret construction plans, architectural drawings, and MEP specifications.
  • Certifications: OSHA 10-Hour or 30-Hour certification preferred (or willingness to obtain within 90 days of hire).
  • Key Traits: Sharp problem-solving instincts, clear communication skills, and a willingness to spend time on active construction sites in all weather conditions.
