Engineering Software & Automation InternCompany Description

VouDuo is a technology company focused on building practical, high-impact software and automation tools for engineering teams. We work with companies that design, build, and manufacture real products, including startups in aerospace, hardware, and advanced engineering.

Our work sits at the intersection of mechanical engineering, CAD, software, automation, and engineering data systems. We build tools and workflows that make complex engineering processes feel simple, reliable, and easy to use.

VouDuo values curiosity, problem-solving, technical discipline, and the ability to turn messy real-world engineering challenges into clean, useful solutions. This is a hands-on environment where team members are encouraged to learn quickly, experiment, and help bring bold technical ideas to life.

Role Description

VouDuo is looking for an Engineering Software & Automation Intern to support software tools, automation workflows, CAD/NX customizations, technical demos, and engineering system deployments.

This is a full-time, on-site internship based in Huntington Beach, CA.

This role is a strong fit for someone with a mechanical, aerospace, manufacturing, or engineering background who also enjoys software, scripting, automation, and solving technical problems. The intern will work on projects that support internal tools, customer-facing demos, installer automation, engineering workflows, and startup-focused technical solutions.

Daily work may include writing and debugging code, creating scripts, testing software tools, documenting technical procedures, modifying engineering workflows, supporting NX customization work, and helping improve the way engineering teams manage design and production data.

The intern will work closely with VouDuo’s engineering team to identify opportunities for automation, improve system efficiency, support proof-of-concept projects, and help prepare technical demonstrations for startup and engineering customers.

  • Research technical problems and apply findings to real-world engineering use cases
  • Support proof-of-concept projects for startup and engineering customers
  • Help prepare demos, examples, and technical materials for customer conversations
  • Work with engineering systems involving CAD, automation, databases, APIs, and Windows-based software environments
  • Document findings clearly so work can be repeated, tested, and improved
Qualifications
  • Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related technical field
  • Interest in both engineering and software
  • Familiarity with at least one scripting or programming language such as Python, PowerShell, C#, JavaScript, or similar
  • Comfortable troubleshooting technical problems and reading error logs
  • Interest in CAD, automation, manufacturing, aerospace, hardware startups, or engineering software
  • Ability to research unfamiliar technical topics and learn new tools quickly
  • Strong attention to detail in testing, documentation, and technical work
  • Clear communication skills and ability to work in a small, hands-on team environment
  • Willingness to work on-site in Huntington Beach, CA
Preferred Skills

  • Experience with Python, C#, PowerShell, SQL, or API integrations
  • Familiarity with Windows software installation, configuration, or troubleshooting
  • Interest in engineering data systems, automation, and technical product development
  • Comfortable working with startups, engineers, and fast-moving technical teams
