Sun up to sun down, you’re the trusted expert customers rely on. At Vortex Doors, you’ll roll out in a company vehicle, arrive on site, assess the problem, and restore safety and uptime for businesses that depend on their doors and docks. From precision installs to complex troubleshooting on automatic operators, access control, and storefront hardware, every call is different—and that’s exactly what makes it rewarding.

What you’ll tackle
  • Install, service, and repair commercial and industrial doors, dock equipment, and related hardware using the right tools and methods.
  • Diagnose issues like broken springs, hinges, locks, electrical faults, and operator problems; welding training available if you want to expand your craft.
  • Set up and integrate door hardware—locks, handles, closers, low-voltage components, and access control systems.
  • Ensure work meets safety requirements and applicable building codes.
  • Deliver outstanding customer service—explain repairs, present options, and recommend cost-effective solutions.
  • Document each visit with accurate notes on repairs and installations; submit reports as needed.
  • Perform final quality checks to uphold Vortex’s uncompromising standards.
Why Vortex Doors

  • Clear growth path with multiple advancement levels to help you build your career.
  • Ongoing education on manual doors and dock equipment for industrial openings, plus options for industry certifications.
  • Hands-on training with hollow metal doors, frames, and hardware.
  • A strong safety culture, supportive team environment, and recognition programs.
  • Competitive pay, health benefits, 401(k) match, eight paid holidays, and a robust vacation/sick program.
  • Company-provided uniform, tools, and an annual boot allowance.
  • Use a company vehicle to perform customer service visits.
What you bring
  • Excellent mechanical and technical aptitude with a strong troubleshooting mindset.
  • 4+ years of experience in commercial door service (automatic and industrial door repair experience is ideal).
  • AAADM certification is a plus.
  • Knowledge of door types, brands, and hardware; comfortable with low-voltage and access control components.
  • Proficient with hand and power tools; able to perform math with fractions and read a tape measure accurately.
  • Physically able to lift 50+ lbs., work on knees, climb ladders up to 20', and handle repetitive movements safely.
  • Professional communication and interpersonal skills; able to collaborate and influence customers when needed.
  • Detail-oriented, quality-driven, reliable, and self-motivated.
  • Understands safety regulations and follows safety protocols.
  • Computer-literate for documentation and communication.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
Schedule and pay
  • Full-time within Vortex business hours of 7:00 AM – 5:30 PM, Monday–Friday; must be able to work some overtime and on-call hours.
  • Salary: $26.00/hr – $33.50/hr, based on experience and skill.
  • Hiring bonus up to $10,000 available for candidates with commercial or industrial door experience.
