Job description

Job Summary:

Volaris Group's corporate head office, located in Mississauga, ON, is seeking an experienced finance leader to head its corporate finance function on a 12-month fixed-term basis. The ideal candidate is a strategic, hands-on finance executive with deep accounting and finance expertise, sharp commercial judgment, strong analytical and interpersonal skills, and a proven record of leading teams and partnering with senior stakeholders in a complex, decentralized organization.
Volaris is one of Constellation Software's operating groups, with multiple portfolios reporting beneath it. This role heads Volaris's finance function, serving as its most senior finance executive across the group and the portfolios it spans. It holds full accountability for all finance functions - reporting, analysis, treasury, finance systems, internal controls and the internal audit relationship - setting direction, sharpening priorities and clearing obstacles so the team can deliver. Equally central are the relationships the role is built on: close partnership with the portfolios and their CFOs, with Volaris corporate functions, and with CSI Finance, Internal Audit and M&A, keeping the CFO/COO and CSI consistently equipped with the insight and support they rely on.

Job Description:

Duties & Responsibilities:

Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Operate as the senior finance leader for Volaris with end-to-end oversight of all finance functions, including financial reporting and analysis, treasury, finance systems, internal controls and the internal audit relationship

  • Set, prioritize and course-correct finance strategy and priorities across the function, ensuring the team is focused on the right work, operating effectively, with the path cleared to deliver

  • Serve as the CFO/COO's primary finance partner, delivering the reporting, analysis and decision support that informs leadership decisions

  • Build and maintain strong relationships across Volaris corporate functions, the portfolios within Volaris (particularly portfolio CFOs), and CSI corporate, including CSI Finance, Internal Audit and M&A

  • Oversee consolidated financial reporting (internally and to the parent company, CSI), including the quarter-end and year-end close and coordination of the external audit (e.g., KPMG) and group (CAS 600) audit

  • Oversee financial planning, budgeting and forecasting, and provide the analysis and decision support that informs business and investment decisions across Volaris and its portfolios

  • Oversee the team's technical accounting and analytical deliverables, and support bonus methodology across the portfolios

  • Oversee treasury and the integrity of internal controls and compliance, in coordination with Volaris and CSI Internal Audit

  • Oversee governance of international expansion and cross-border compliance across the portfolios

  • Lead finance transformation with a strong focus on AI and automation - identifying, piloting and scaling AI-enabled use cases to drive efficiencies - and modernise ERP/consolidation systems (e.g., NetSuite, OneStream)

  • Lead, coach and develop a finance team of 11 (including offshore resources) through four direct reports - the Director of Financial Reporting & Analysis, Manager of Financial Analysis & Risk Management, Corporate Accounting Supervisor and Financial Systems Administrator

Education and Experience:

  • Accounting designation required: CPA (or legacy CA)

  • 10+ years of progressive finance and accounting experience, including team leadership; experience in a technology or software environment a strong asset

  • In-depth knowledge of IFRS (including IFRS 15) and complex revenue recognition; experience with multi-entity or public-company consolidation, purchase price allocations (PPAs) and external audit coordination strongly preferred

  • Strong leadership skills, with the ability to develop a team and partner effectively across a decentralized organization, and sound problem-solving and decision-making judgment

  • Proven ability to build relationships and influence at senior levels, including with executive leadership and across business units

  • Experience leading finance transformation, process improvement or systems implementation, with exposure to automation or AI-enabled tools an asset

  • Advanced Excel skills required; experience with consolidation/ERP systems (e.g., NetSuite, OneStream) an asset; excellent analytical and communication skills
