Job description

Description
• Provides continuous onsite coverage to ensure 24/7 safety and support and adherence to community guidelines.
• Assists residents during evening, nights and weekends; effectively resolves conflicts and de-escalates situations.
• Works respectively and patiently with those who may have difficulty engaging with service providers.
• Ensures the safety and security of the building, the residents, and staff, including actively monitoring security cameras.
• Operates and maintains a two-way communication system to remain in constant radio contact with Vista Maria staff and security personnel as necessary.
• Completes accurate daily recordkeeping, required documentation and required reports.
• Observes and reports hazards, unusual activity, or suspicious circumstances to management for correction and/or follow-up actions.
• Monitors building activity, enforces community rules, and conducts scheduled safety checks.
• Assist residents in resolving issues and accessing appropriate support within the housing continuum team.
• Builds collaborative relationships with residents, focusing on increasing strengths and promoting positive outcomes.
• Provides compassion and a sense of safety to each resident by daily engagement and building relationships.
• Observes and verbally intervenes as necessary to deescalate potentially escalating situations.
• Regularly participates in supervision and housing continuum meetings to ensure collaboration with team.
• Assists with transportation of residents as necessary.
• Completes additional tasks and responsibilities as requested to support overall operations and ensure continuity of services.
Requirements
Required:
• High School Diploma or GED.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in human Services, including working with individuals experiencing homelessness, mental health challenges and/or substance use disorders.
• Valid driver's license.
• Experience in crisis intervention.
Preferred:
• (1) one year of experience working with the veteran population.
• (1) one year of experience working with the human trafficking population.
• (1) one year of experience working with the incarcerated population, or community reentry from incarceration.
• (1) one year of experience working with individuals in recovery or impacted by substance recovery efforts.
