    SENIOR RESIDENTIAL MORTGAGE UNDERWRITER


    Department: Consumer & Retail Lending

    FLSA Status: Full Time

    Reports to: Director of Consumer & Retail Lending

    Location/Branch: Rowland Heights

    Seniority Level: Mid-Senior Level

    Employment Type: Full Time

    Salary: $80,000 to $90,000 a year. Exact compensation may vary based on experience, skills, knowledge, and education.

    Position Summary

    The Senior Residential Mortgage Underwriterโ€™s primary job function and responsibility is to underwrite residential mortgages, cross-train credit admin staff, and manage production pipeline to ensure quality and efficient flow in the origination process.


    Supervisory responsibilities

    • Indirectly supervise, support, and train assigned employees in the Credit Administration Department.


    Essential Job Functions and Responsibilities

    Function 1

    • Underwrite & support for Cr Admin Dept with Portfolio Residential Mortgage underwriting issues and other technical assistance in origination

    Function 2

    • Review & support Conventional Residential Mortgage processing, submissions, clearing to close, and closing/funding functions and processes.

    Function 3

    • Provide ongoing training, industry updates, and other relevant information pertinent to operations.

    Function 4

    • Comply with and adhere to all applicable regulatory requirements, policies, and procedures.


    Other Responsibilities (if applicable)

    • Pipeline management and maintain operational efficiency and quality.

    Qualifications:

    • Bachelor's degree in a related field required.
    • At least 7 years of experience required, in conforming to jumbo loan limits.
    • Familiar with portfolio mortgage product originations
    • Well versed with FNMA Selling Guide and or other rules/regulations/laws governing the industry
    • Requires active listening, excellent writing skills, communication skills, negotiation skills, conflict resolution skills, organizational skills etc.
    • Knowledge of processes pertaining to residential mortgage originations
    • Fluency in a second language preferred but not required
