Work Environment

As a Physician Assistant, you will work onsite at our state-of-the-art surgical center alongside a multidisciplinary team of healthcare providers, including physicians, nurses, and physical therapists. You will have the opportunity to engage in a dynamic, supportive setting that prioritizes continual learning and professional development. Our work schedule is from Monday to Friday, 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform comprehensive evaluations and diagnoses of patients with chronic pain syndromes, employing medical histories, physical examinations, and diagnostic tests to determine treatment plans.
  • Identify candidates for interventional pain management procedures and manage chronic medication regimens while effectively educating patients and families on treatment options.
  • Consult regularly with supervising physicians and collaborate with healthcare team members to ensure comprehensive care for patients.
  • Conduct thorough physical examinations and interpret laboratory, imaging, and diagnostic study results to diagnose acute and chronic illnesses.
  • Formulate individualized patient management plans, initiating and monitoring treatment regimens based on established guidelines and clinical best practices.
  • Document all patient interactions and treatment plans accurately in medical records to maintain continuity of care and facilitate effective communication across the care team.
Patient Population / Client Focus

This position focuses primarily on patients dealing with chronic pain conditions, including but not limited to musculoskeletal disorders, neuropathic pain, and post-surgical pain management. You will cater to a diverse patient population, addressing individual needs and understanding the unique challenges each patient faces in their pain journey. Your role will involve assessments to determine both physiological and psychosocial factors affecting patient care.

Qualifications
  • Education: A Master’s degree in Physician Assistant Studies from an accredited program is required.
  • Licensure: Must possess an active Physician Assistant license in the state of New York.
  • Experience: Minimum of three years of experience in a clinical setting, preferably with an emphasis on pain management or a related field.
  • Skills: Strong communication and organizational skills are essential, along with the ability to perform effectively in a fast-paced team-oriented environment.
Preferred Experience
  • Experience working in a pain management clinic or surgical facility is highly desirable.
  • Familiarity with the latest pain management practices, interventional pain procedures, and chronic pain medication management.
  • Additional certifications in Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) or other relevant areas are advantageous.
Compensation and Benefits

This position offers a competitive salary range between $150,000 and $180,000 annually, based on your qualifications and experience.
